No way Son would allow that, he loves his country and would play with 2 broken legs if he could.
I do hope that Southgate is sensible with Maddison though as he is also carrying a slight injury - give others a chance and rest some of the more established players against the Aussies

fair play, always thought that, Maddison however seems a good shout, he's had a few digs this season physically and might only be at about 80-90% fitness, a wee break might suit him but now that he's playing so well he might also fancy his chances of tying down a starting place with England?

If he is carrying a niggling injury, then why not rest him? The club pay his wages, not South Korea. Or would you prefer he flies halfway round the world, and comes back with a worse injury that keeps him out of Spurs matches?
Team picks itself at this point. Actually, think it will be a good test, Luton are big & physical, but we are capable of dealing with them... Esp now we have good athletes in MF (Biss & Sarr), height to defend the long ball in VDV. Hope we try and stretch the game a little more than we have of late and mix it up with Udogie & PP overlapping and offer some decent early delivery for Son.
Think it will be a close game. I fancy Spurs away from home against sides who technically are not as good as us who will have a go and create a bit more space for us to play.
Can Spurs winning 2-0 but I think it will be hard fought and patience will be key with a couple of late goals... Defo think Sonny will score.... He tends to feast on the weaker sides.

Exactly right. He is like a God in his country and is totally respectful of that. He'd never pull out without good reason.
Apparently S.Korea are playing Tunisia and Vietnam in friendlies.

I wouldn't prefer anything? what I asked was it would surely be up to Son to decide if he wanted to go and play for his country, I understand why you, as a Spurs fan would prefer he didn't go and play but surely he will have a say?
We have a very apt replacement who should start tomorrow. Jamie Donley who can play in the center, with Richy on oneside of him and Kulu on the other.
Give Sonny a rest tomorrow, and bring him on if needed
Similarly I think I would give Sarr a rest and play Hojbjerg
I would go with same back four and Vic in goal.

I can’t agree with you on this one, I hate it when we rotate as we are so utterly schitt at it and it costs us virtually every time.
Start our strongest team and try and blow Luton away early - we are well capable of that, they are as poor a team as you can face at this level in any season in the Prems history. Hopefully get to a position where we are comfortably in front and then start taking off the likes of Maddison, Son, Bissouma, Romero in order to protect them from injury and yellow card suspensions.
This will be Luton’s 3rd game in 7 days and they have just had a chastening home defeat against Burnley - we on the other hand have had a whole week to prepare for the match and are in good form with confidence sky high - not even our Spursiness should be capable of derailing us in this one. If it was Woolwich at Luton they would steam roll them 4-0 with little fuss.

Sorry.... 100% disagree. Spurs are not in position to be resting anyone for PL games... There's no reason for it with 1 game a week unless it's a legit injury. Son is Spurs Captain and should be starting. If we are 3 up after an hour... bring him off... no issue with that.
As for Jamie Donley, I'm all for giving young players a chance but to start him over Son in a PL game at this point/with no experience is utter madness and won't happen.
Sarr has a big future at Spurs, PEH doesn't. Sarr needs PL minutes alongside Biss. At this point PEH is an option off the bench... nothing more. I suspect he'll push for a move in Jan.
Spurs are not playing the same kind of squad game that the likes of City & Arsenal are. Until Jan (FA Cup) Spurs should be starting their best 11 in every PL with the focus on making top 4. Squad rotation is for next season (hopefully) with another couple of windows for Ange to get the kind of squad he wants
Sonny can rest when we 3 goals up and not a moment before.
That's the incentive for him and Maddison.
Honestly why would we rest, no cup commitments until Jan and an international break after this game.
The only positive of us taking every other competition lightly in our pursuit for top 4 is that we only play 1 game a week and the players get plenty of rest - if Son gets injured, we’ll we have to move on, at some point the penny will drop with Levy about squad size - hopefully

That's also my argument that we should not do what we did in the cup (wholesale changes) but that's not what I am suggesting.
I am confident that JD will score for us. I have seen the guy in games more than most probably, he has the knack of being in the right place right time.
I don't see Luton being a goal up or anything like that, just because we didn't play Sonny
And if we need to bring him in, we should be able to.
I can see the rest of the attacking players more thab capable to score goals against them. Specially Richie boy. They will suit him.
We need to start trusting the process and not have the same inhibitations that we had under previous regimes.
Let go and evolve with the team, but of course, I am only advocating one change, not multiple ones.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeh rllesting players is a complete nonsense. Some of our supporters never learn. Spurs don't have another game for over two weeks after tomorrow. Absolutely full strength.
Its a funny position we find ourselves in.
No one really expected such a strong start and even now we do not expect us to be top 4, but we now have much greater hope and growing expectation.
This season kind of felt like a bit of a free hit, a chance to turn ourselves around, get a bit of style and identity back and make progress.
Now we're looking at a position where if we are still here of here abouts in Jan, fans will be expecting us to throw the kitchen sink at the Jan window to get us to seriously maintain a challenge. This is kinda unrealistic.
I thought we would see this season as having much more freedom and ability to throw a bit of youth in there, playing the long game with next season and beyond far more in mind than this one. We have done so a bit with Sarr & Udogie and if we had made an ok, middling start perhaps fans would be a bit more willing to see a bit more experimentation.
But now we look at it thinking we cannot afford to rest or rotate or risk dropping points, even though this is one of the easiest fixtures in the calendar.
I think we need to keep the big picture in mind and find a balance between risking key players like Son and giving others a chance. If Son was not starting, I would trust the management that this was done for the right reason, not for the sake of experimentation but out of caution that we could lose him long term if whatever injury he carries goes bad.
Ange/The Club will be aware of the criticisms of the Fulham cup loss.
I hope most fans feel that they trust the choices this manager will make, which will, in my opinion, have a big eye on the now but also looking to the future.
Sonny is to S Korea what Kane is to England. He's the captain. There's not a chance he won't play for them unfortunately.
In terms of the game, I think we're in danger of taking them a bit lightly. We've struggled against low block sides this in this system. Just look at that Sheff United game at home, then Liverpool with nine men. I think it'll be a scrappy, tight game. We should have too much class for them but we've plateaued a bit lately. Great result against Liverpool but the performance wasn't good. Think we'll find it harder than some suggest, particularly when we know this takes us top. We ALWAYS blow those chances.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's also my argument that we should not do what we did in the cup (wholesale changes) but that's not what I am suggesting.

Why give him a rest? Just so he can then play for South Korea. Ridiculous idea.

Playing players with potential knocks and cause further injury damages is one reason why wecould and should conserve our best players and managed where we can.

Excellent win?
Ref assisted for sure. Bielsa would have offered a replay by now.
