Not even Chelsea think it sensible to bring 30 new players in.

😂 I mean, I’m all for replacing this entire squad of entitled, lazy underachievers…

I also forgot to mention Marcus Edwards from Sporting. Swap him for Antony so we never have to seen that one-footed fraud ever again.

Only place Antony will end up is back at Ajax on loan with ETH as manager again.

No club in the world will buy him. His wages are 200k a week so that means he's our problem for the next 2.5 years.

I can’t watch him for another two weeks, never mind two years. I think he’s possibly the worst United signing of all time.

Not sure how sensible most of those would be given the fees required to acquire most of them. They'd be hard to get.

We massively missed out on several excellent and cheap signings in the summer across key positions we could have strengthened in the likes of Kudus, Gyokeres, Thuram, Todibo, Vicario etc...

He definitely is mate. You don't need to convince me.

We won't be able to sell him though. He will go on loan for a few years with us covering a lot of his wages.

Cheers Erik. 😡

They’re sensible as in not really star names or world class just yet. And they’re all performing at a high level for their clubs.

I get that, but gone are the days when we can pluck the cream of the crop from most of the PL. The cost of trying to grab the best players from some of the other PL teams would be so massive that we'd decimate our transfer budget. This wouldn't be a major issue if we had a really strong squad and needed one or two stellar additions (like we used to). But where we need to improve multiple areas of the pitch as quickly as possible, I think we'll have a hard time fishing in the PL market.

Much to the annoyance of many fans.....our squad isn't going to be too different next season to what we have now. Sure a few will go and a few will come in but the core of the squad will remain the same.

We don't have a lot of wiggle room with FFP, we struggle to sell our players and we will also not have CL income.

This is why we should sell Greenwood and McTominay. The full fee gets booked rather than amortised which gives us a lot more wiggle room.

Not sure any Villa players would come to us.

Haven't Everton put a massive price tag on Branthwaite?

Likewise I think Palhinha and Mitoma would be too expensive.

I'd love to see Olise at United.

Think we'd probably be better off looking abroad if we want some sensible value for money transfers. No club in the PL is going to sell to us for cheap.

Looking at Nice (Ratcliffe's other team) they seem to buy mainly from France but have also bought from Italy, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Switzerland and England over the past 2 summers. Obviously we have more money and a bigger pull but it would be nice to see us look for some lesser known talent, or just some known talent in the 23-28 age range who don't cost a bomb and need huge wages.

Plenty of talent out there, I’d imagine the club will focus on young talent, building for 3-5 years time.

I’d rather see that, and a tough couple of years, than this constant quick fix approach.

We can add Mbappe to the list then.

Hopefully Mitchell finds us some real gems from Monaco and the French League.

French youth football is very very good. They produce so many good players so it's no coincidence they always seem to have such a strong national team.

PL players are simply too expensive for us now I agree. We need a lot of new players so 70m on each transfer isn't the way to go anymore.

Hahaha. If only.

Real Madrid next season. Surely he's not going to avoid that move any longer?

Greenwood apparently being lined up by Barcelona too.

We don’t have a constant quick fix approach. We might actually have been better if we had done, buying more players in their prime, rather than loads of youngsters and past it players.

Maybe we should look at the Dutch league for targets surely ETH will know few reasonable cost good ones

I'm sure you're right OP, but most of them I've never heard of, so have no idea if they are any good or not.
I suspect most are the same unless they watch every game with a pen and paper.

Manchester has a bigger pull than Nice?
