Bruno is doing his best in a poor team. I think we all recognise he's not captain material, but there aren't exactly many candidates out there. Rashford isn't producing anything near what he can, it's up to both him and the manager to sort that out. Rashford isn't going anywhere soon, so we need to get the best out of him.
But the whole team is just playing poorly. We actually have individuals who are producing less than the sum of their parts. It can't all be down to Rashford.
This mention of our style of play - I still don't know what it is!!!! It's certainly not showing on the pitch. There are only 2 problems - the players and the manager .
I’m talking about if we want to change the style of football. Rashford is detrimental to that, as is Bruno. We’ve built our attack around them as they’re our most important attackers, but if the club want to change that then we’ll have to think about where they fit and whether they have a future at the club.

Unless we get crazy offers, in the short and even mid-term, it's hard to see either going, whether under this manager or a new one. I appreciate they are key players, but we have been struggling against all teams, whether at the top of the league or the bottom. Whatever we are trying to do / implement, it's not really working at all, and there's more to it that simply getting rid of Rashford and Bruno.
Yeah we need a big clear out of the squad. But the issues with Rashford and Bruno are still hard to ignore. Rashford in particular, Bruno would be less of a problem if we can get the right pieces in place around him.
Honestly, a front 3 of Rashford, Hojlund and Garnacho, with Bruno behind them.
Garnacho has shown he can be wide right a lot better than Rashford, but it can't be that difficult to get these 4 to play with decent movement, attacking prowess etc.
You have Mainoo behind them, and then one other. So we already have 5 of them in place.
I mean, they should be frightening most defences, yet we don't look like we could frighten a rabbit.
We talk about style of play, I don't know if it's the players, the manager, probably a combo of both, but I just don't know how the hell we can't get them to look anywhere near decent on a regular basis this season
They look dangerous when there’s space because they have the pace and quality to hurt teams. It doesn’t surprise me they struggle when there’s a lack of space and pressure on the ball, as they aren’t the most intelligent in and out of possession, aren’t he most technically gifted and can’t press teams into their own half for sustained periods.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bruno is also a problem as he just doesn't like to stick to his position, runs around like a headless chicken and seems to be so careless in possession pinging low percentage balls across the field. Just compare him to De Bruyne, he knows when to play that killer ball and when to keep it simple, Bruno it's killer ball 90% of the time.
I can see why ETH said he can never play like Ajax, I mean with Bruno and Rashford as your star players, its very difficult.
I don’t think that’s the biggest issue with him if you’re thinking about changing the style of play. His biggest problem is that he isn’t very good at dribbling or shielding the ball. KDB is fantastic at this, as are all City’s players. He’s not alone, though. It’s only Shaw, Martinez and probably Mainoo that can do this to a high standard. It’s no wonder we look so panicked in possession. You can get away with it with one or two, but not six or seven.
Very few teams have City's technical ability. I just mean even against average teams, it often looks like we are getting outplayed. I appreciate not all of our players are superbly technically gifted, but we seem so much worse than a lot of teams.
It's hard for Bruno to be compared to KDB. Bruno is limited , I feel he feels there is a pressure on him to always produce, and he just doesn't have that capability. he gets frustrated, we get frustrated at him.
For me, we don't work hard enough to make up for our weaknesses against the better teams, but we don't seem to be able to impose ourselves against weaker teams either. Maybe not being able to play the Ajax way surprised ETH, and he's not comfortable trying to implement a different style, so everyone is lost.
I know i am over-simplifying it, I would just like a bit of excitement and entertainment when watching us play

Rashford is the one player that save this job last season you melon.
Of course he's going to try and fit him in. The others didn't save his bacon last year. Marcus did.

I have seen us in the flesh a few times this year with Marcus missing and we've been just as bad. Worse even.
I'm sure he didn't start either of the 3-0 home defeats to Newcastle or Bournemouth. What happened those days? Did the replacements forget how to play that ETH way as well? 😂

I think the problem for you guys is that you have a few players not really willing to truly work hard. Someone like Garnacho is an example of someone who puts some effort in but perhaps not enough BUT he is producing at the right end of the pitch and he's been one of your best performers this season. You forgive that sometimes he doesnt track the runners very well or press really hard because he's a constant threat up front. So even without Rashford your team/style problems persist. When Rashford does play, he isnt delivering in terms of output, his decision making is often poor, he doesnt look like he's leaving it all out there, and his body language is awful......all of which makes him look like a much bigger problem than say Garnacho, whose positives are comfortably outweighing his negatives.

Marcus Rashford has been left out quite a few times this season due to poor form and discipline and we've been equally crap. Nothing changes.

I have seen us in the flesh a few times this year with Marcus missing and we've been just as bad. Worse even.
I'm sure he didn't start either of the 3-0 home defeats to Newcastle or Bournemouth. What happened those days? Did the replacements forget how to play that ETH way as well? 😂

Your ability to make a straw-man argument gets more impressive by the week.

It's not a straw man argument. It's a perfectly reasonable one.
Marcus Rashford has been left out quite a few times this season due to poor form and discipline and we've been equally crap. Nothing changes.

You should probably google what it means then.

SE85’s defence of Rashford:
1. The rest of our attackers are as poor as him.
2. We’ve played poorly without him.
Rinse, repeat.

Or, he was amazing last season so is allowed to have a bad season and do what he wants, even though he’s had more bad seasons than good since his debut.
