Lack Of Creativity

Meireles wanted to leave, that is his choice, it can't be credited to anybody within the club, therefore not a mistake on the club's part.

Dalglish believes what he is doing is good for the team, that is why he is doing it.

Meireles only wanted to leave after being told he wasn't wanted.

Suarez and Gerrard are good enough to create at the moment, while the likes of Henderson, Shelvey, Sterling, Suso and Pacheco are the hopefuls to take over in the middle.

Meireles wanted out, and Liverpool felt that £12m for a player 2 years of 30, was good enough for us.

Lack of creativity? Perhaps, however not through the middle but on the flanks, in my opinion. We need another option there.

Meireles was never told he wasn't wanted. Where did you get that absolute lie from? Or did you just make it up? He wanted to leave due to not getting a payrise which was agreed with the previous owners. If he didn't care about the club to knuckle down and get on with it and wanted to move for more money, that is his choice and I respect that. He didn't lie about it. He wanted a payrise, didn't get it, so went elsewhere.

I thought we got a decent price and Chelsea got a decent player, everybody's happy.

So Meireles who had a good 3 months is now the reason Liverpool have the worst midfield creativity ever???

Erm for a lot of matches last season were crying out for creativity and Meireles provided nothing.

Meireles is nothing like a creative player. He's a box to box midfielder who has the ability to score few. Prior to Kenny's arrival he was having a poor season and then had a very good 3 months spell after the arrival of Kenny. He disappeared again.

Meireles may be the obvious better player but Adam is a lot more creative.

He was wanted, but he wanted a wage rise which was promised by Tom and Jerry (who made many promises), even though there was no paper work to state the promise. Many rival fans say that he was one of our best last season, but he was obviously inconsistent and was praised over the top (by many scouse fans.)

I would like to see us make a bid for Junior Hoilett from Blackburn in January. Young, pacey and can play wide or upfront.

For argument's sake say that a pay rise was agreed with your previous owners. (Wouldn't have been that high a rise considering they were broke) I don't see why your current owners couldn't have matched it. He was certainly one of your better players. No matter what you want to admit now.

Eh because they wanted to cut down the wage bill? Meireles wasn't getting any younger?

Rightly or wrongly Liverpool are using the moneyball strategy in transfer dealings. Meireles has about 2-3 years left at the top level in the Premiership and we got a good transfer fee for a player who doesn't put his foot in and has had disputes with the club over pay.

Everybody talks about Henderson who is one for the future and a replacement for Meireles. He's at the club for the long haul and is a creative player, but because he hasn't set the world alight immediately the ficus drops on Raul leave.

LFC us a work in progress and Kenny Dalglish is the man who is looking long term on his new signings, it's short sighted posters such as yourself that might look at the team in a few years and realise that LFC has a long term plan that doesn't appeal to the right here right now generation.

You don't Tom and Jerry very well? Do you?

Meireles was moaning about money, and I doubt Kenny would want a player who was moaning about £100 more or £30k more a week. Kenny wants players who want to play for the club, and not for money.

The problem with a long term approach is that you can't see Luis Suarez hanging around for 4-5 years before you actually compete for the league. Also Champions League income would benefit your stadium plans. Its all well and good citing the long term approach, but can you afford to do it?

LIVERPOOL NEW BRAND
Yes, money shouldn't come into it. But how would Meireles feel about the likes of Carroll coming in and getting paid more for a lesser job.

And how do you know that? Are you just making comments based on nothing?

Look, nothing is guaranteed in life but that doesn't mean everything wont go as planned.

Well every genuine world class player has left due to the fact you've won little recently. Why wouldn't Suarez do the same?

posted on 10/10/11

Sir Alfredo

I think Suarez is commited to LFC as long as progress is being made which it is at the moment. We stand a good chance of regaining a top four spot and we have a big squad that will come into it's own as the season progresses.

The stadium plans dont depend on CL football this is a commitment from FSG although a redevelopment could still be an option.

I'm not always sure about Kennys judgement but I'm willing to trust him above all other options. He knows a good player when he sees one and is utterly commited to LFC. That's good enough for me.

Meireles is a good player but wasn't in future plans so was let go. Not a major loss. There are better players here.

Who are they?
The only player I can think of is Torres and it's not like he's won everything after leaving us.

I would deffo reject it if I were Kenny!

Discussion about Meireles' impending transfer to Chelsea. So 'no major loss then.'

I doubt Adam would be playing if we get into the Champions League in truth. He is a squad player. I'm sure we will be looking to bring in a few faces if we do get Champions League football.

Adam was brought in as he proved that he can unlock many defences in the Premier last season with Blackpool. Dalglish has brought in Premiership proven players, like Enrique and Downing, to ensure we get Champions League qualification.

If we do expect a few bigger name European players to join the likes of Suarez next season.

Just like Ronaldo, Tevez and even Rooney who considered leaving.
