I can see Chelsea moving for Ange, who has become increasingly disillusioned lately and concerned that his ambitions are not aligned with that of the supporters.

Ange to Chelsea
Poch to United
Steve Bruce to Spurs

Now, let that sink in.

We'd deserve that

Straight swap. I wouldn’t be mad.

As much as i like Ange.... i think Poch is better coach, i think his brand of football with our current squad would have seen us get Top 4. He's less reckless and has adaptability that i dont think Ange does. I think he's better suited to a team that isn't the best in the league.

Still think Poch has unfinished business at Spurs and given the choice id take Poch over Ange every time

Ange talks a big game, talks about building a winning club but i'm not sure he's a players manager, not convinced he's the greatest coach, think he's a guy that believes in certain principles but not convinced he's adaptable and does feel like a bit of one trick pony.

I can see why he's popular but he's won soft leagues with the best teams.... i'll be staggered if he ever wins anything at Spurs.... it all feels a bit fake.... A coach that says he only cares about winning working for a club that doesn't prioritize winning and looks at top 4 like a trophy.... it will end in tears... it always does

posted 3 weeks, 4 days ago

Exactly, what coach DOESN'T want to win?

Less talking, more doing please.

Unfortunately, I think you are right. Clearlake buy a top four club with an established squad and just make bad decision after bad decision. And just when we look like we've turned the corner, they do it again. It's like my club has been taken over by Arsenal and Spurs fans, slowly and painfully dismantling it from within.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
. Exactly my thoughts, the only hope is that in the final season of this epic TV series, Roman comes back to life and demolishes the insidious puppet masters .

Question: Would Clearlake have taken the decision to part with Poch, who appeared to have turned things around so successfully , unless they already had viable alternative options on the table?
I guess we will find out soon enough, anyone out there thinking TT might be one of those options?
It's possible that this decision was already made after the Arsenal game and they are not going back on it despite the recent string of good results.

Chelsea and Spurs now have problem owners who don’t understand football.

Is it any wonder that Todd and Levy apparently get on very well.

Not sure that’s true, I don’t think the teams in Japan and Australia he took over were the best. I am sure I read somewhere that one of the teams hadn’t won the league in years.

I think they both have a good relationship with Levy. Poch's spending was impacted by the stadium build but helped by his own successes in the CL. Ange has benefitted from increased revs generated by the stadium. My point being, I think Ange's approach (while fun to watch) is too reckless for the top end of the PL and his previous successes count for nothing at this level. I'm happy to keep Ange but I think Poch is far better manager/ tactician.

If Poch had this current Spurs squad for next season with the addition of a decent CF I think we would make top 4. Give Ange the same situation, I think we would score more goals but ultimately finish lower.

I look at Ange and see a guy who's brought the fun & entertaining football back but I don't see a winner..... He talks like one but his brand of football/ Tactics says something very different... Its all too idealistic

We maybe angry but I haven't seen any cry yet.

It is stupid but we've seen it all before under Roman. I was hoping the rumours were false and that Poch might stay and continue the progress he has made this year. He has got the team to a level now where someone can come in and take advantage, not unlike what roman did with Raneiri and Jose, for the record I wanted Raneiri to stay. Different starting position, 6th rather than 2nd but both decent teams that could be around a while.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The thing with Roman was you were never financially strapped like you are now. It’s a sell to buy policy and you need to balance the books.

I think Chelsea sales this summer will tell the full story
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think concern over our finances are greater than reality. We've bought a couple of squads and potential is showing in many areas thanks to Poch. Tweaking this summer is all that's required, plus a striker.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A point of distinction. The club is jot financially strapped. Its owners have billions at its disposal. However, if reports are to be believed , and in fairness they do seem credible, the club is strapped by PL profit and loss rules.

Also, I keep seeing Boehly's name mentioned. He is actually now barely involved in key decision making. It was announced over a year ago he was stepping back from Chelsea, and that has proven to be the case.

posted 3 weeks, 4 days ago

You actually have to wonder at the thinking behind Boehly's interest in the first place...it was hardly for financial gain
