I can count players that have been sacked from elite teams on one hand. It’s almost unheard of.

Honestly, check out this highlights reel. You know that Bergkamp goal vs Newcastle when he spins it around Dabizas? Well, Edmundo was doing these for fun, sometimes even to beat a player on the touchline.

Lost a massive game, family members under threat, bit of aggro on the pitch gave him the opportunity to get punched in the face a couple of times.
Probably a ban, but a sore nose this morning is enough punishment IMO.
It does look like this could be the beginning of the end for Liverpool. With someone they paid 100m for likely banned for several years, how do they replace him without breaking FFP rules? It looks like they will need to get rid of Salah, Van Dijk, Allison, TAA just to cover the cost of Nunez being banned. They will have to then break the bank to try and secure one forward which will leave the rest of the team as Championship standard. So the choices seem to be risk breaking FFP and being relegated to the Championship through points deduction or not spend big and hope a weak team can keep them from being relegated to the Championship. Either way, it now looks like VERY bleak times at Liverpool.
