Well all the comments I’ve read from the players over if he should stay or leave have been pretty muted.

And if they love him so much why have they refused to play for him for the majority of the season?

I know you watch most games on the Guardin live feed, but if you have watch some of our football matches with your own eyes, no one has ever downed tools.

Yes we have lost plenty of games but it not from the lack of trying. We never got a proper hiding when you thought "they have given up on him".

Maybe the Guardian spun it that way hence why you feel this way?

I think we all need to take accountability for what some of us have said this season, it's been a horrible and tough season losing 20 games and we rightly so were all fed up with all of them.

We also need to take a step back and look at the wider picture and question why it was so bad, and with Romero was it the injuries? Was he carrying an injury or did it take him a while to get back to 100%? Playing in a team with zero confidence? Not giving it 100% because we prioritised Europa?

I think if we are sensible we know he is a class defender and won the world cup and europa cup. He was MOTM the other night and absolutely brilliant.

We should be building the team around him and VDV

I think my issue is that the final didn't show any sign that Ange's standard system suddenly works. He set up in completely the opposite way against a toothless, out-of-form side and ground out a win. That's great - genuinely - but I don't see anything to indicate he's suddenly able to succeed with his system over the course of a full league season. He's not going to go all-out defence for 38 league games plus Champions League, considering he's built an entire career on gung-ho Angeball.

All very well going on vibes because no doubt the squad is on a massive high right now, and rightly so, and it's certainly not an easy decision. But I think the best thing would be for Ange to walk with head held high and a nice fat £2m bonus in his pocket.

Of course it's valid to doubt whether Ange is going to turn it around in the league. As others have rightly said, as we've all said, there's no hiding from the fact that's been sheit this season (though there are a few mitigating factors tbf)

But it doesn't make sense to me what you're suggesting, that he's suddenly going to play park the bus football all season cos he won a cup with it. I feel like Ange is getting it from both ends here - he doesn't change and he's a stubborn idiot. He does change and then that's bad too. Maybe he's just learning?
