What did Joe Devine say?
I think there are a bunch of peeps out there now who all do the similar style of videos and high quality content. All of which largely come to the same conclusion as they are all friends, but also cos they are more correct than they are incorrect it means the same things get repeated.
Best in the business for me is still Nathan Clark (largely spurs only) tho just cos I find he says the most interesting stuff that I never considered or saw before

Sometimes i wonder with overly detailed tactical breakdowns if its a bit English teacher reaching for meaning that isnt there
I think what’s worse is the ones who are obsessed with creating some sort of meaning or story out of every point. Daniel Story is bad, and few are as insufferable as Seb Stafford Bore
You hate narratives? Makes it fun sometimes
Story is on football cliches and totally football show a lot isnt he
I listen to all the jumper wearing middle class footie podcasts when i can

I don't mind it when it is natural or interesting. When it is the constant gimmick in everything is when it gets annoying.
'Ooh PSG lost a game in a final, how can I create a narrative around the construction of football teams and how they compete in different weather conditions'
I don't mind Story as he isn't completely full of himself but he is bad for that approach to everything in football.
We are a pretty meh team gonna be mid table until we get proper investment

Exactly this. IMO for folks who watch football regularly and have done for our whole lives there's diminishing returns in watching detailed analysis. I guess like Edin said, maybe there's something you haven't seen but really that's only gonna happen occasionally realistically.
But it feels good to feel clever and know something others don't know I guess
When I do go for the analysis stuff I find Cleary and the guy on the Athletic videos who acts a big clueless engaging because they don't take themselves so seriously. You're not blowing anyone's mind that knows what you're chatting about anyway
We dont live in an age anymore where football tactics are some big secret
It did kinda feel like that back in the day
What I like right now that I think I'm right in saying, is that it's not good enough to just have one system and approach anymore. All the decent clubs have teams of people doing analysis and coaching.. unless your team is overpowered it's going to be effectively countered before long
Going to put this here in a safe place but Garnacho would be a great signing for us to play on the left.
Yeah I wouldn't mind a Garnacho if Richarlison and Son go
I find the in possession stuff really interesting, or even things that are well laid out that I already knew but shown through great video examples. Only part I don’t really care about as much is pressing structures out of possession

Can’t really say I’ve ever been too impressed, but why specifically?
I find the specific game approach stuff interesting. Like what Blarmy was saying about how teams beat PSG. That and the in game stuff. You get to see coaches directly impact games

Just also impressed me when I watched him. Good pace and dribbling skills also got a decent shot on him.
1v1 he’s always worried me.
No data to back up just what I’ve seen.
Bit of a numpty personality though
