Proper six pointer this one.
Big match for Ange at the weekend and I can see him resting a few of his big hitters in this minor trophy match.
Both teams to cancel each other out.
Spurs 0 Liverpool 0
Looking forward to this as a neutral. Hoping for a closer game than the league match a couple of weeks back.
One thing for sure is that there will be at least 5 goals
This is our biggest game of the season. With the league written off, this is a massive chance to finally end the long long barren run of trophies.
I don’t even know who’s available anymore. I can’t keep track. But I am getting tired of anges excuses.
Hope to see spurs turn up tonight. Apparently this hasn’t even sold out.
Can see us winning the home tie but still unsure on which spurs will turn up. One things for sure we need to win comfortably 3 or more to nil…. Which we know is a near impossibility the way we defend.
Can’t see us getting anything at Anfield so 1st leg is key.
We're playing Accrington in the FA Cup. You guys are playing Tamworth.
Both teams can go all out for tonight. Should be a grate game
Only one guarantee, whoever the Spurs keeper is he won't be keeping a clean sheet.
Just want Spurs to stay in the game and keep it as tight as possible for as long as possible. If Spurs go all out attack from minute 1 as per normal..... Liverpool will wipe the floor with us.
You don't win games (let alone 2 leg affairs) in the first 20 minutes.
The focus needs to be to win the tie, NOT entertain the neutrals.
Ange needs to prove he has some in game management and the players need to show they have some discipline. The goals will come, we have the right players. The focus needs to be concentration, keeping our shape and protecting a second string back 4. United showed us the blueprint at the weekend..... I know its not all out attack, but a draw is a brilliant result tonight!
We have players coming back...... STAY IN THE TIE
It will be at least my second semi of the day

Yeah, it doesnt matter if Liverpool are at full strength and we have 10 players missing through injury and suspension....no excuses!
Perhaps Ange should ask Slot to rest VVD, Konate, Gomes, Roberston, Macallister, Szoboszlai, Allison, Kelleher, Jota, Nunez just to even things up

Indeed.
I think having Bentancur back will help. He is more disciplined and positionally aware in the DM role than Sarr and Biss....but we will miss Sarrs energy and running so we should be more circumspect & compact and have a decent plan for quick counters and a more direct approach at times.

100% agree Re Lolo... He's has far more discipline than Sarr and is much better with the ball that Biss (Gives it away in stupid areas)
Id make it an ugly game and try and win the midfield battle. We cannot outplay and out attack Liverpool.
Id play....

If we play the same way we did against them a couple of weeks ago I hope Ange is handed is p45 afterwards.
Need to play sensibly and aim to sneak a draw. Even a 1 goal loss not the end of the world.

I disagree. We need to win tonight, however unlikely that is, with the second leg being at Anfield.
playing well and being competitive is key, we have to want this more than them as they have more quality and if theyre on it and we dont get the luck you need, not much we can do
The fact this game comes before the FA Cup is a real sucker punch. Liverpool will play their strongest team now and I really can't see us getting anything from it. We'd also need to take a lead to Anfield to stand any chance. It's a real shame because if it is Newcastle in the final, I'd fancy us purely because we've got the greater trophy pedigree.
We've been so hard done by with the draw in this cup.
If we go gung-ho tonight it'll tell us everything we need to know about Ange and his inability to manage games tactically. What Newcastle did last night was an absolute masterclass. Picked them off and sat in. I'd love to see us do that, just once, and put the result ahead of the performance. We won't though. We'll go all out attack, leave our makeshift defence exposed and wonder why we've shipped 4 goals at home.
I'm banking on blind hope at this stage. Reckon we've got less than a 5% chance of going through. We'd need an early Liverpool red to do it.
If I was to find any reason to be optimistic I would say that the performance against Newcastle showed a team that was still with Ange that put in a spirited effort against opposition near the top and in very good form. Probably the best performance we've had while suffering a loss for a while, if you can use that as a small consolation.
The reasons to be pessimistic are everything else.
What we need is one of those weird capitulations from a strongly fancied side. Think Southampton 6-3 Man United from back in the day. We need the gods on our side. The only hope I have is that the Liverpool players are a yard off it because they might think the League Cup is beneath them a little bit. Also wondering whether Slot will play an understrength side as an act of loyalty to those he played in the earlier rounds maybe?
Even if we miraculously took a 2-0 advantage to Anfield, does anyone really think we'd be able to see that out? Absolutely no chance. Our only hope really would have been if this was a one off fixture at a neutral venue. This two legged bullshiiiiit has got to stop.
Big game. COYS.
Whatever the result, it's only half time.
Ange In.
2.7 more windows.
Stay humble.
no such thing as hard done by with cup draws unless city have paid for the warm balls.

We will give it a real go I hope and not get brushed aside over the two legs.
