We will soon know whether it was him or the players who weren’t good enough. Of course it could be both but has to be one of them at least.

He'll have to pay for his seat tomorrow now.

5hit just got real.

If the players were behind him tomorrow could be a hiding. Any news on caretaker?

Owner David Clowes said: “Paul is a man of great integrity and embodies the values we hold important at Derby County. No fan should ever forget his contribution in securing promotion to the Championship. I certainly won’t.

“However, results in football dictate decisions and we felt that to give us the best chance of retaining our Championship status, the time was right to make a change.

“Paul goes with our thanks, gratitude and best wishes. He and his family will always be welcome at Pride Park.”

Don’t think he sacked the caretaker. A bit mean if he did.

Wowzers.

Cooper please though Russell Martin would be a slight contrast in styles to what we have been used to.

Strange the timing just before an away game. Sounds like something kicked off or Darren Wassall waiting in the wings.

At least Paul wont be conflicted about who to support.

Don't want any of that Forest cowardly defensive tripe though from Coopz.

I'm gonna throw Gary Bowyer out there, in terms of our lowkey budget, just to start the rumour mill and I actually rate him.

Supposedly he had to be persuaded into management in the first place. He's been an interesting character. On the plus side I would say he set his teams up very well out of possession and there is no doubt he engendered great loyalty from his players. His big failing has been the great lack of imagination in attacking tactics and constant fear of what the opposition might do. In another life he would have been a great defensive coach and a good foil to a more enterprising manager like a McLaren. Probably he would have been much happier too. I don't think he enjoyed the limelight. He's a good bloke and I expect he will do a good job for a team in the lower leagues where the expectations are less.
