No, he’s just being realistic. We won, great, but we were fortunate. On another day we lose and guaranteed there’ll be plenty more losses if we continue to defend like we do.
It’s so exhausting reminding fans that, injuries or not, we’ve got mid table results since November 2023. This isn’t just about getting players back.
One thing I’d really like to ask Ange is “are you happy with the defensive performances from your side this season?” because I’d love to know what he really thinks. My fear is that, based on his interviews, he thinks we’re too wasteful up top and that’s why we haven’t been winning games. I find that utterly shocking. Any manager worth his salt would look at the amount of chances we give away and make it a major priority to stop it. He completely ignores it. Does he even see it? It’s a major blind spot and I’m amazed so many fans are okay with it. We’ll never win a thing playing this way.

You just immediately contradicted yourself.
Besides, in the Brentford game we saw a counter attacking style. He tried sitting back in the cup semi against Liverpool and everyone moaned that we went out without a fight etc. He can never win with some people (yourself included apparently) who will accuse him of being clueless whatever he does or says.
Of course I have to agree that it's not working out you look at the results this season. Though I would point to the goal difference and say it's not all awful, doomed to failure stuff.
To the list of players that obviously performed well including Spence, Vicario, and Maddison: I would add
Bergvall who was always going forward and really was the maker of the winning goal by Maddison.
Tel worked hard and could have done better with some half chances. Son and Kulusevski ran into double teams all of the time and were too slow to pass the ball off.
Davies is playing better in defence than ever. He's a warrior for Spurs.
