2 weeks off for Wolves

Despite signing a 6ft 4ins striker in the summer, Wolves have been near the foot of the table for crosses this season - both attempted and successful ones.

Evidently there has been a noticeable shift in crossing in the last two games, with a greater emphasis on getting the ball into the box early to give Larsen an opportunity to attack it.

We'rte 9 points above both Leicester and Ipswich with 9 games to play. So I started to think about Goal Difference. We are -18, Ipswich -34 and Leicester -40.

Should these teams manage to achieve 9 more points than us (unlikely) they would inevitably improve their respective GDs at our expense. However, to eliminate our better GD on average Ipswich would also have to achieve a 1.8 and Leicester a 2.4 swing in GD.

I think this would also be unlikely (but not impossible) and so our points difference is probably more realistically 10.

Not sure either Ipswich or Leicester will get 10 more points in their remaining games. Being ultra-pessimistic 3 more points to us (v West Ham, Ipswich and Leicester) must surely be the bare minimum for us.

If so that would leave them get 13 points from 9 games when, so far they have gained 17 from 29.

On the other hand I'll believe were safe when the maths tells me so.

And, of course, if we did get draws against Leicester and ipswich that would require them to get 12 points from their 8 other games - so something like 3 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats - which would put them in the top 3 on current form. Ain't gonna happen - or is it?

We are safe, no need to worry about it any more at all. Though to be fair I stopped worrying once VP arrived.

I think you've been worried all season mate. In my competition you've only predicted a Wolves win twice ( at home to Southampton and Ipswich) and we lost one of those. Had Wolves echoed your 29 predictions, we'd be 2nd from bottom with 15 points and 19 from safety, plus since VP has arrived you haven't predicted a single win.

You can fool some of us all the time and all of us some of the time. But you can't fool all of us all the time.

Arsenal's prospective new sporting director Andrea Berta is keen on Wolves' 25-year-old Brazil striker Matheus Cunha, who has a release clause of £62.5m.

Errr, its a prediction competition. What you do is you predict the results based on standing and form. We have been one of the poorest sides in the division this season you see.

Out of interest can you tell us what my predictions for Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton amount to, that would tell us if I had Wolves below them or not?

Personally I just predict that the bottom three will lose every week regardless.

Stick a draw down when they play each other maybe?

I’m giving my secrets away now!

Just took a look actually.

So Leicester 12
Ipswich 7
Saints 5

So it appears my predictions echo my feelings on our survival after all

Speaking of prediction comps, that celebritywolf fella is miles ahead on Molmix!!

Columbia ahead against Brazil and by far the better team. Cunha and Andre came on as subs during the second half and Brazil turned it around to win with a 99th minute winner.

Semedo came on as a sub in Portugal's loss, with Sa an unused sub. Shame Neves doesn't start regularly anymore.
