It really is time for Arteta to start showing some nous in the CL and at least have a clear approach. I feel like in the past Arteta treats CL knock out games in the exact same manner as PL games
Saka back is huge and could make the difference, really the only player we have who genuinely can score from nothing
Arteta's record in Emirates home legs of 2-legged games is appalling. Just the Porto 1-0 to get it to penalties in his favour.
19/20 - Lost to Olympiakos on away goals (won 1-0 away, lost 2-1 at home aet)
20/21 - Beat Benfica 4-3 (1-1 away, 3-2 neutral)
- Beat Olympiakos 3-2 (won 3-1 away, lost 1-0 home)
- Beat Slavia Prague 5-1 (drew 1-1 home, won 4-0 away)
- Lost to Villarreal 2-1 (lost 2-1 away, drew 0-0 at home)
21/22 - lost to Liverpool 2-0 (0-0 away, 0-2 home)
22/23 - lost to Sporting on pens (2-2 away, 1-1aet home)
23/24 - beat Porto on pens (1-0 loss away, 1-0 home win)
- lost to Bayern 3-2 (2-2 at home, 1-0 loss away)
24/25 - lost to Newcastle 4-0 (2-0 home and away)
- beat PSV 9-3 (7-1 away, 2-2 at home)
Yep every 2 legged game I could think of he has lost bar Porto but didn't realise there were that many!
I've seen the general consensus is we must win at home, but whatever approach we take we just have to stick with him. For me I'd say its pretty much get behind the ball and try to catch them on the break with Saka and Martinelli, they are vulnerable to it, and play not to lose both games.

Glad weak little beeeyatches like Fiddy have never been to a game. What an absolutely spineless little girl.
I was watching that game where Henry scored that goal at the Bernabeu, even I celebrated that one. Insane goal
Just rewatching it now. Power, pace, balance, vision. Pure class

Considering the opposition, the circumstances and the occasion, I think its probably just about my favourite Arsenal goal ever.
How on earth have you only last played Real in 2006 - goodness me we get lumbered with those bums every year
They usually give us Barca instead
Yeah the years we make it into the competition we either get pumped by Barca or Bayern, rinse and repeat.
This game has a feeling of excitement about it, rather than inevitability
These are the games are what is all about. I am excited to watch Arsenal given that opportunity.
Love it.
Best of luck to yas, they dont look like the RM of usual but the CL they'll likely pull sumin out their backsides < ok>
I think we'll lose this one, our record in cups is poor and Madrid are just ridiculous when it comes to the Champions League.
But I really hope our players don't leave with any regrets either way. Leave it all on the pitch (without getting yourself sent off) and see what happens.
I think you will hang with Madrid tonight, might even beat them, but I think they put you away in the second leg
Real are not in their best of forms but they can raise their game when it comes to crucial ties. It's going to be tight. Expecting extra time or penalties.
Arsenal to "dominate" both games- possibly through being better, possibly because Real let them - but get minimal returns goalwise. Real to outscore them in each game.
We're gonna mash you London boys up 😂
I reckon we will beat them tonight but they will win the tie at their place. Got a feeling Villa will knock PSG out. I actually think Villa will get to the Final.
