Surely in an auction, all conditions being met, a sale is almost certain
If A bids 5, B bids 10 and C bids 15, assuming player and both clubs agree then C wins the auction
Cunha will leave, and it won’t be for less than the release clause. Who knows how much the release clause will be worth in £s. It’s evidently written as €75m. A while ago that was worth about £62m but now more like £64m

We have to accept any bid above the clause. Cunha can choose which club he moves to.
If a club offer the amount in the release clause and another club offers £10 million above the release clause, Wolves would still have to accept both offers and Cunha can choose which he goes to.
There is no benefit to any club offering over the release clause.
The only way I can see it being different is a club offering below the release clause, but adding additional clauses such as amounts payable following a number of appearances, goals, international appearances, sell on % etc.
Doesn’t change the fact that the buying club needs to agree terms with Wolves. Cunha can only choose which club he goes to if Wolves agree the terms they are offering. He’s under contract at Wolves, it’s not the same as being a free agent
Of course, the elephant in the room, and judging by the way that Chunha keeps kissing the badge, he might actually decide to stay.

I don't know about Fosun but I reckon most supporters would prefer Cunha to £62.5m, of which only half would be spent on a replacement.
What about a player exchange?
Any United players that would improve our starting eleven? Maybe Bruno? Rashford?

If that were the case, we could just refuse to agree terms with any other club and the release clause is completely redundant.
Pretty straight forward really. If the release clause is met, the player becomes a free agent. 👍

We could but it would be pretty stupid to hold on to a player that wants to move on.. We will receive a number of offers for Cunha that will meet the release clause. Probably more than one of those offers would appeal to Cunha and more than one would appeal to Wolves. I’m sure via negotiation we’ll arrive at a deal everyone was happy with. But that three way negotiation will happen. Cunha can’t just tell Wolves where he’s going.
What's the point in a release clause if you don't have to accept an offer that meets it?

Don't
I've a horrible feeling that there won't be any bids above the threshold but he'll still want to move and he'll end up doing a Nunes ro force a move.
Or they send him on loan somewhere and he flops and he'll and up back at Compton next summer. Tongue not completely in cheek here by the way.
In Spain it’s the law that if a club wants to sign someone with a release clause then the transfer fee must be paid in full to complete the transfer
In England the terms of payment are negotiated and if the selling club feels the length of instalments payments is too long, they can say no to the transfer even if the release clause level has been reached
In reality Wolves will likely receive a few offers for Cunha and the player will negotiate his salary and Wolves will negotiate the terms of payment. This really isn’t a big deal as I’m sure agreement will be reached in both cases.

Evidently, it might be easier for the club and the player to agree the terms of the release clause, than it is for us to agree on what a release clause actually is!

Ten years ago this summer Pereira was on the verge of becoming manager of Glasgow Rangers. It came around the time they had been relegated to League Two for financial irregularities. They got promoted from League Two and League One at the first attempt and Pereira had been offered the job if rangers went on to get promoted back to the Premier League from the Championship. But they missed out of promotion in the play offs and Pereira walked away.

Wolves are top of the current form tables for the Premier League having got 5 wins and a draw from our last 6 matches. Not only that we are second only to PSG in a current form table across the top 5 leagues in Europe.
If we can beat Leicester on Saturday we will make it 18 points from our last 6 games which will make us the top team in Europe on current form.

Think the longest winning run in the prem this season is 6 games from Newcastle
posted 6 days, 6 hours ago
Correct and their last victory in that run was against us. Before that sequence they had 2 draws. Be fitting if we could better that run.

See that Thelwell is going to Rangers. Seems to have developed himself a decent reputation on the back of being made virtually redundant by Fosun, and nearly relegating Everton after spending half a billion.
Arsenal playing like us under GON tonight.
