I watch the Marathe demeanour on the pitch at the end and didn't see him go Farke, i find that crazy and disappointing in equal measure. Maybe the writing is on the wall - though I share your view that Farke should be given the chance.
If he's not going to be, then as ruthless as it sounds, then things need sorting and quick. Any new manager needs to be in and deciding on recruitment (if they're not already discussing with someone?). I do worry what effect it'll have on squad harmony - i sense they all, well those regularly starting, have a bond and loyalty to Daniel. The fans certainly do - very clear last night.

As you remind us Jonty the upper echelons of the corporate environment are extremely ruthless and the more I go over the remarks Farke gave amongst the celebrations regarding how long Leeds have been absent from the Premier league caused by the huge weight of expectation the Leeds shirt and manager's chair holds so you need a special type of quality, mindset and character to overcome these hurdles to be successful at Leeds which in over 20/25 years only Bielsa achieved in just 2 seasons where Leeds didn't struggle finishing Championship champions and 9th in
the EPL.
To me this sounded like he was pointing out to the owners to be careful what you wish for and there are no guarantees that whoever Leeds have as manager they won't encounter the same difficulties previous managers
have had and the fact he's got Leeds promoted he at least has proved he has equalled Bielsa's achievement and therefore has what it takes to take Leeds onto the next level of establishing them in the Premier League.

Let's be honest, not many managers have done us promotion and not many have achieved teh points that he has 2 years in a row with 2 team rebuilds and how humble was he. Nothing about him not putting any pressure on board, just a brilliant person and he has transformed teh team from one that was boring to watch at times to one that has achieved and is great to watch.
---
That's the key thing for me - this is a tough club to manage. People say he has a great squad and should be going up, it's easy on paper but reality of doing it with Leeds United is difficult.
To take on the pressure and emotion of this club at this level and achieve something is massive.

I completely missed the Farke/Marathe non-interaction.
Seeing a lot of comments on here and elsewhere re it.
Either you're right Jonty. Or (this seems less likely BTW )
Marathe was letting Farke get his due plaudits on the pitch? Like I said, seems less likely than what you said.
5 stars.

TBH, I'm in the sort the Farke situation out quick side
of the ledger. One way or the other. Don't drag it out
into the time of the summer we need to be recruiting.
Saying that, Farke does remind me of Phil Jackson.
One of the most successful NBA coaches all-time.
He had Michael Jordan and a slew of other great players. Jackson was always rubbished by some for
only winning because of his squad. The thing about
Jackson was, he was smart. Tactically and other.
Above all, his brilliance was knowing how to handle
and wrangle brilliance and form a team that worked
in harmony as one. Maybe that's Farke's genius too.

Ironically Promotion could be right in his opinion of
Farke, we end up being relegated, so that would
confirm the theme of recent years where promoted
teams are relegated from the Premiership.
But it begs the question…would he be right but for
the wrong reasons?
Are the managers/coaches of relegated clubs all
poor coaches? I don’t think so.
More a case of the financial market in the football
pyramid…well we are a capitalist country, but that
doesn’t mean the policies are right for the football
industry…you would think the Premier League and
the media moguls would give every chance to
promoted clubs to the Premiership to succeed and
thrive…at least give them a fair chance…lets have
some ethics in the leagues pyramid.

The whole things was stage managed yesterday.
The coming out one at a time, the scarves on seats.
All Marathe has to do is come over, grab a mic and say:
"Wow! We feel so fortunate to be custodians of this great club, well done to the players, the back room staff, everyone at club and of course Daniel Farke for taking us back up in style, we couldn't have wished for more.
This is your night everyone, enjoy, and let's do this again next season!"

Farke has earnt his chance in the PL with his team, he should be well supported by the board and then he lives or dies by his performances there. More risk in twisting than sticking in my view.
He obviously feels under pressure to defend himself... 'no money at Norwich'... 'how difficult it is to get leeds promoted' etc. Sad situation that the guy who has just got us promoted has to defend himself.
I think his points are all true, but it also overshadows that we were in a financial quagmire for the best part of the championship dark years, so hasn't been a level playing field for previous managers.

I cannot believe the board is acting this way, it is a disgrace they have not publicly backed Farke.
When he joined we were in a mess, he lost a lot of players and others wanting out.He sorted out the mess and got us back to being a class team.
This season he has produced a top class Championship side that has reached a record points total.
If the board don't back him and we slump next season they will set the club back years.
For goodness sake give the man a chance, he's earned it.

I said on another thread, you can bring in whoever you want, there is no guarantee they'll keep you up!..
Somebody has already said look at ManU and Spurs, like been said in other seasons, nobody has the divine right to go up, the same as nobody has the divine right to stay in any league!..
The right has to be earned, respected and properly backed, and sacking Farke after what he has done is a sham that'll show the club up for the wrong reasons!..

Long time since I asked Jonty but how is your lad doing at the tennis? I'd taken an interest because my great nephew was right into it but he seems to have since switched to padel, winning lots at U14 and got some sponsorship through winning at U15 and semis at U18 as well as representing the country. His dad seems to think the scene is better than the sh't that goes on in the tennis world!
