Really sorry to hear that. I know little about Leicester’s problems, but they must be bad to drive you away. So good luck to your team in the near future.

To be fair you have won the PL, FA Cup and League Cup more recently than Arsenal.

I expect you’ll be here next season, Blacksy. You’re a prominent part of the furniture here. All of us here on the City board are furniture that has become battered and pitted over time. Furniture that is beyond a coating of Pledge to restore itself to its former glory, and is probably now fit for disposal at the local tip, worn down to the rivets by a constant barrage of scorn and frustration we have had to endure for one or two years now. I would expect you to emerge if, or when, wholesale changes are to be implemented within the management and playing staff sectors of the club.

The fixtures will be released around a month from now and the prospect of who City are drawn against on the opening day, and in the weeks thereafter, is too much of a mouth watering prospect to overlook. Yes, I can see the listings now: Preston North End (H) Stoke City (A) and so forth. A whole new shower of talent 😀 to be bestowed upon the KP in the year to come.

This club lies somewhere between the Premiership and the next Division down. Not good enough to fit into one league but probably too good to compete within the other.

I look forward to your reappearance in due course.

Your leaving this board will be as sad a loss in its way as Vards departure yesterday.

It certainly had a feeling of a set up to desperately try and avoid the last home game of the season becoming a protest at the useless management that has overseen our fall from grace. To some extent that worked as we celebrated thirteen mostly glorious years from the GOAT, it was certainly nice to be able to do that rather than have him announce departure after the season ended and not get that opportunity.

Yesterday did not go wholly according to plan though, significantly once Jamie had been subbed the protests against the board and Rudkin in particular surfaced. During the presentation at the end - to a commendably still full KP stadium - the team joining the party was met with a chorus of boos. I can't disagree with that, for the most extent they have been the worst I've seen in 25 years of watching LCFC; not so much in supposed quality - although some players are nowhere near as stellar as they think they are - but in basic application and team work. At least you knew when Levein's soldiers went in to the foray that Hume and Co were going to give their all - they just weren't very good. The most telling point came during the interview with Vardy at the end, when asked if he had anything final to say to the fans, he paused for a few seconds - which allowed the afternoon's noisiest chants of 'we want Rudkin out' to erupt. We'll see if that has any impact on Top.

I understand where you are, despite our recent discussions I'm not that far behind you but I'm prepared to see what happens - critically over the summer, but also next season.

I wish you all the best, it's been most enjoyable discussing matters LCFC and you'll be most welcome if you return in due course.

(for this goodbye, hopefully temporary)
(for the future of the club)

😂😂😂 it’s got to be at least 7 hasn’t it?? To be fair the last break was about 18 months, I do expect this to be a lot longer and I can honestly say that something is different this time. I’ve absolutely got no appetite to support the club any longer, I just feel absolutely nothing for it and so really there’s just nothing to continue adding.

Will give a few other posters a chance to speak at last eh?

I’ll be sorry to see you go 98. Your views, always forthright, were worthy of our attention. You were occasionally a bit over the top, but that’s what the emotion of the game does to us.
Hope to see you back sooner rather than later. In the meantime, all the best.

I am assuming that today's news of a new PSR charge won't be enough to bring you back to the happy clapper KPFC army, 99?

TBH, whilst I am not yet at the 'I need to give this up' stage, I am not far off it. This has been the most joyless and mentally exhausting year in my time as a Leicester fan. I know some disagree but, for me at least, this is our worst ever season, at least in my 26 years supporting this club.

Vardy was the last strand that kept us as a club linked to our past. The last piece of the most amazing chapter in our history. Ranieri, Vichai, Kante, Mahrez, Morgan, Schmeichel, Fuchs, Albrighton and now Vardy - and yes, even going back to Pearson, Walsh and Shakey. All gone now.

Now that Vardy's gone, I don't think the club will ever be the same again. That whole golden period in our history in all honesty ended 3 years ago, but it is definitely, definitively over now. Leicester City will continue, but it won't ever be the same Leicester City, and that is going to take some time to come to terms with.

Frankly, the only small sliver of hope I have is in the generation of young talent we have waiting in the wings. But there's that gnawing realisation that if the likes of Monga, Evans, Alves, Nelson etc are as good as we hope they are, their futures won't be at Leicester City - they will be elsewhere.

The harsh reality is that we are back now to where we were before the golden period - somewhere between a yo-yo club and a bog-standard second tier club, with the risk of dropping further if things continue to deteriorate.

Vichai's legacy was the golden period that changed our football club for the better. So far, Top's legacy is ruining that legacy and sending us back to where we were before Vichai.

All the best 99 - I hope you will still drop in every now and again, regardless.

Foxello, I don't find much to argue with in your post. For me the Championship relegation season was the worst, because of losing that proud record of only being in the top two divisions, but I get where you're coming from - this squad have been an utter disgrace and were deservedly booed on to the pitch for the Vardy ceremony.

I can't say I've been too upset this year, more frustrated with the continuing poor decisions being made, and sad that the legacy built by Vichai has been so carelessly thrown away; also I couldn't get too excited by our promotion as I didn't expect anything other than an awful season, so I've been in a semi-depressed mood for the best part of two years.

It's irritating that we could have still been an established EPL side, with a good squad capable of challenging for the occasional trophy or punt at one of the European competitions, but here we are.

I'm depressing myself as I write this; at least we have 4 more games for our season ticket and (I think) no VAR to look forward to. Counter that with the authorities slavering at the leash to punish us for the alleged PSR transgressions and no sign of Rudders being moved on.

There is a hint that Ruud may be on his way, although I've also read Russell Martin may be a target (nooo!).

Another snippet in the news is Jeff Shlupp may be returning - OK as a player but another 30+ signing? It will be very annoying if the cream of the academy leaves for peanuts, but that's the system I suppose - it begs the question though about what's the point if the club neither gets to use any good players it develops nor receives fair recompense for them.

It will be an interesting summer and season whatever happens.

Thanks Foxello and Dublin!

I guess today’s news really just cements the argument we’ve been making against this ownership. Surely not even Mersey can put up a defence now.

It turns out that had the club submitted its 23/24 accounts by 31st December and not tried to avoid what they knew was an inevitable breach for this 3 year cycle (I’m not talking about 22/23 jurisdiction argument) then the points would have been applied this season 😂

It seems like such a stupid move when they knew they couldn’t possibly meet the 23/24 threshold. They must have honestly believed they could stay in the PL so it would be better to take the points hit next season as PL club and take another season of PL cash

Now, because they haven’t co-operated they’re getting a 12 point deduction and that’s before the EFL try to re-open the 22/23 case. They will also have to sell up to meet the EFLs business plan. Sorry Nuneaton - think you’ll have to put your promotion hopes on hold, it’s a bottom half dogfight I’m afraid

Hey 98, come on, you stay here for me because I’m gonna argue PSR implications are nothing new and something any new owners could do nothing about 😉.

But seriously, it’s well documented the string of errors that were made by multiple levels of the club hierarchy following our decline from 5th place to 18th.

For me it’s still around how we recover from the constrictions of PSR which basically put you in a straight jacket if you dare to invest to succeed and fail. Since then we were relegated and lost income so couldn’t comply, tried to comply upon promotion so couldn’t invest and got relegated so were punished, and are now punished again because we had the impossible task of staying up whilst asset stripping. All whilst Man Vity and Chelsea seemingly go about their loopholes in scarce regard for PSR.

But grumblings of PSR aside, it’s been the most depressing season at our club and one that has seen a lot of matchday fans turn their back on the club. We’ve got it wrong again without our managerial appointments and that had ultimately hurt us.

Next season we’ll probably start with a points deduction, transfer embargo and further restrictions. How this helps our “sustainability” I’m not sure. But it certainly means that a poor choice of manager and youth players leaving or not being up to it could spell a horrific period for the club.

I’ll stick with the club no matter what, because I’ve been low and know what it’s like to be bad. I lost interest in games last year but I stuck it out.

I’ll always enjoy our debate when and if you return and I know you’ll always be infuriated by my stance. But hey, we’re all different aren’t we. Stay healthy and let’s hope next season isn’t the biggest car crash at our club yet. Fingers crossed.

agree with all the comments .this club took a massive hit with that horrible heli copter crash.Top is clueless.we had to get the 2 loan signings right and paying Edouard 90000 a week was not Coopers fault. he only played him about 30 minutes.i cant see any light at the end of the tunnel thats why after 16 years of being a season ticket holder i have not renewed.

No one could have predicted the long term consequences of that awful evening.
We won the FA cup on the legacy left by Vichai and his influence.
As soon as things started to unravel the snowball effect continued ,being propelled by total mismanagement and incompetence of the highest level,by those withtin our club at the highets level.
I have supported our club for 60 years, and have renewed my season ticket, but sadly have stopped wearing anything showing my allegiance as am too embarrassed by the state of our club.
So sad for our fans who have shown so much loyalty to the club, and have not been rewarded.

I feel your pain 98, but hopefully a few weeks of sunshine, cricket and hearing children scream on their trampolines at 21:30 in the evening will have you crying out for coming back on here come August, and looking out for how we start the new season and how soon we can wipe out our impending -12 points deduction.
With the news that we were all expecting coming this morning, that Sunday will be RVN last in charge, it looks like another summer of opportunity behind closed doors at the King Power.
This season is right up in the top 3 worst seasons that I have seen since the late 70's...
INCOMPETENCE
TEFLON SHOULDERS
WRONG APPOINTMENTS
LYING TO INCOMING MANAGER/S
LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY AT THE TOP
I could go on.......
Do any of us have any faith that things will get better?
Funnily enough I do.... they can't get much worse.
We will see a large number of players depart this summer, and taking their grossly unearned wage demands with them... and I for one would not be averse to letting the new manager (whoever he may be) have a 2-3 season plan for promotion.
Start to build a new, younger, hungrier squad.... let's reset and stop buying the Winks, Skipp, Coady of this world. Stop ridiculous loan deals that we end up being stuck with......... funnily enough again this seems to be aimed at JR (has there been a bigger villian since Dallas?) But this takes time.
All I want to see moving forward is passion, wear the shirt with pride and a new broom in the boardroom (or a complete change of mindset in the boardroom)...
The sad thing is that the state of our club has slightly tarnished the end of a true legend at our club.... the send of was ok, but imagine is we were mid-table, fans on board etc, JV deserved better, but again that lies at the door of Top, Whelan and Rudkin!!!
Honestly how does a man survive like Rudkin when the club is spiralling downwards on his watch AGAIN!!!

But back to you 98, please just take some time, have a summer break like we all will and come back refreshed because this is OUR club.... we will be here longer than the current owners, players, next manager and the Blue Army is in our blood!!!

Appleton - no, away to Millwall. 🤣

I'm still hopeful we'll see genuine change, with RVN being replaced by a pragmatic choice (Dyche anyone?) rather than someone like Martin who might achieve promotion but is highly unlikely to get us to stay up.

Also, news that Rudders has been moved to one side and replaced by a competent DoF.

Wait a minute, I've just spotted a large pink object floating past the window.

🤣

I have renewed my season ticket btw and look forward to the 4 extra games and no VAR!

What's worse this year is if just one of the promoted teams had been half decent, there was a chance of relegating the high and mighty Spurs!
