Wait for the season to start, and if the manager isn't playing the right brand of football, he's not winning enough games, the tactics are too rigid, we lose to a perceived 'lower team' their ire will be switched back to the manager until he's gone.

If you take out the traditional big clubs out - Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal - and also ignore the doped cheat clubs CFC and City, which clubs have achieved more than Spurs in the last 20 years?
If the complaint is that we aint mixing it with the big boys enough then that's fair. There are reasons for that and while some is down to Levy , we have for a very large part of that been at a sizeable financial disadvantage.
That disadvantage is now narrowed with all but City Liverpool and United, and even Utd are struggling so we seem able to compete with them for now.
We have the resources to start to go push some of these clubs and compete with them on almost an even financial footing.
But folk also have to remember that things like "we dont pay the wages" have to be put in the context of the likes of Liverpool having £100m more in revenue than us, City way more than that, Utd too. They are able to spend more on wages, while we have largely matched them in transfer fees. We cannot go toe to toe with them in most cases, we are always likely to offer slightly less. Now if the are losing to the likes of Villa and NUFC, who have far lesser revenue than us than that's a worry.
Ambition is an easy word to say but very expensive to deliver. Spurs are willing to pay wages, we just left Werners £168k a week loan end, but you cannot view it all in isolation. A £70m deal on £200k a week is £22m cost per season and we cannot afford too many of those, yet, where others have more scope.
Whatever our budgets are, it's a holistic picture, not just one of wages.
That said, I think we are in a position now to be more targeted in our buys - less volume needed, more oven ready quality. It's the only way we will go forward as a club.
Honestly I am still in the ‘Enjoying the EL win’ mode
I’m sure I will start getting agitated when the season starts.

I used the word realistically so that you would take our status as a club, and our financial position and come up with someone who would tick a box for you. I didnt want to hear that we should be competing with Real, Barca, Bayern, City or Liverpool when even if we offered identical terms we know we aint winning that tug of war.
If you want to bleat that's we're the 9th richest club in the world then that puts us in the same boat as the likes of Chelsea, Dortmund, Atletico M, AC, Inter, Newcastle.
Who are they in for that we should be targeting? Where are these quality players that we're missing out on because we wont pay the wages? Delap, Bellingham?

So you're not going to give a view on who we should be targeting? Seemingly because you don't like to be constrained by making them realistic.
I will gladly agree I am an apologist if i am defending Levy for not being able to compete with the likes of City Barca Real Bayern Liverpool etc in terms of the appeal of our club and our ability to pay the highest wages.
I just think folk like you are deluded because you think we should be! A ridiculous, entitled mindset
posted 2 days, 22 hours ago
Dev is so far up Levy's asssshole, it's impossible to take him seriously.
he bleats on about "we can't do this" or "we can't operate like that" when the only reason why we can't is because we've got an owner completely unwilling to inject ENIC funds into the football operation. There is such a thing as artificial growth, which Villa are benefiting from, where you plough money into the club with the sole goal of qualifying for and finishing in areas of more growth. This propensity to blame it all on the inflated wealth of other clubs is done so to highlight how tough it is to compete, when in actual fact, all it does is expose Levy and Lewis' total lack of ambition. We COULD be spending more, a lot more. Let's not sugar coat it. We know there is ultimately an unwillingness at board level to take any kind of risk to fulfil ambition.
Levy can drone on all day about wanting this and wanting that but the fundamental flaw in his 'slow growth' approach is that the job needs restarting before you've had a chance to finish it. Take Romero for example, or Kane in his later years. They've both stuck around waiting for the project to build. They've waited and waited and waited and then nothing. The longer it takes to assemble a winning squad, if you're unsuccessful on the pitch those players are going to want out, so then you're starting again. Rebuilds have to be fairly swift to keep players on board with the project.
Every rebuild hits a tipping point. You can buy young and get lucky, as we did with many great players during Poch's era, but then you have to start sprinkling the squad with stardust. Not many, maybe one or two a season. THAT's the part Levy will not do and has never shown a willingness to do.
I'm a bit tired of this narrative that if you're moaning about Levy, it's because you always want something to moan about. That just isn't true. It's because, despite qualifying for the CL and all the supposed riches that brings, we're still shopping in the bargain basement for those on low wages. Fans have feckin had enough of Levy's bulllshiiiiit and frankly I'm astonished there are so many apologists out there.
That video was just a gross attempt to spin opinion. Well it won't feckin wash because you can say how much you want success all you want but if you're not going to put the money up to do it, you're just plain lying. I actually think it was a stupid move for Vinai to plan that video. Does he really think a puff piece like that was ever going to work against an army of spurs fans that have just had enough now. It's been 25 years of this shiiiit. Give someone else a go.

Levy apologists can do one! Sick of hearing theirs and levy’s excuses
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you're not going to give a view on who we should be targeting? Seemingly because you don't like to be constrained by making them realistic.
I will gladly agree I am an apologist if i am defending Levy for not being able to compete with the likes of City Barca Real Bayern Liverpool etc in terms of the appeal of our club and our ability to pay the highest wages.
I just think folk like you are deluded because you think we should be! A ridiculous, entitled mindset

If all this is true, then Levy should do the honourable thing and fack off, hand the club over to somebody who can.
