Brexit has been an economic fiasco for this country yet you believe Farage is the man to get us onto the path to growth, you're not a serious person.
=========================================
Well Starmer, Reeves & the left clearly are not also.
So like I have been trying to say
I think we need Reform of our political system with or with out Farage
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So Reform the party or real political reform?
If the latter, I'd agree with you. I'd like to hear which reforms you'd be in favour of though. Because most of your posts are just gripes against Labour. IMO.

My views regarding a form of Reform - brief
I think we should have a publically agreed manifesto that is based upon what is best for the whole country over a 10 - 20 year expectation- aim.
This manifesto should be non- negotiable and each party who come into power must adhere to the stated principle of the manifesto.
This manifesto should have governance over the key tenants of UK life & security.
Finance, Health, Education, Energy security, Justice, Defence, Transportation and so on.
I think our political thinking and structure is to short term and open to abuse.

Imo, we need to change in this country, we are becoming hopeless.
Our politicians for decades have refused to put country before politics.
Starmer actually stated that
Brexit?
My opinion is democracy must prevail, irrelevant of the outcome.
The remainers have refused to accept that democracy must prevail, the same will happen at the next election.
Reform, personally I would like us to totally reinvent how we are governed.
We should first agree a mechanism that would establish an a overarching manifesto that would underpin Uk life & security.
This manifesto would be non negotiable, it may have to revised every 10 years, it would enable long term stability.
The politicians would oversee the management of such a manifesto and would bound to adhere to the principles of the charter.
Im not suggesting an endless stream of referendums, but a set of policies for each department that provided a level of state function that were in the UK populations best interests.
I think we should have a stated expectation of how each state department is run and a defined set of parameters of what each department must provide.
We should put the UK & its population first considering each elected government is spending its tax payers money.
Something like that?

Oh, so you think using your political mandate to shaw up your vote is in the best interests of the UK is a good thing?
Come on democracy doesnt work like that ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The English language doesn’t work like that.
In the 2024 election, Labour won 411 seats with just 33% of the national vote, much of that vote was lent out of utter dissatisfaction & disgust for what the Tories had done in their 14 years of power.
But 67% of the country either did not vote for them or didnt vote at all

Oh damn! They were elected via corruption? Please tell us oh smart one, which party had a higher % of the UK population voting for them over Labour?

I agree. I voted remain.
Brexiteers thought they were 'getting their sovereignty back', 'getting their country back'. People voted Brexit because they were spoonfed the hilarious notion that we'd all be better off. We'd take back control and all that nonsense led by Farage and Boris the great leaders of our times.
So Brexit happened and none of the above happened. Instead we're wrapped up in more bureaucratic red tape than ever. Farage may be a blight on this country, but he is really good at telling people what they want to hear, even if it's a lie / false.
Always odd how some people like OP can spend so long thinking and talking about stuff like this and make it their whole personality but still come to some really wild and silly conclusions.

Can you list some tangible things that have made the Tories look competent?
Is it the NHS waiting lists going down? Perhaps the investment in infrastructure? The better than expected growth? The taking to task of water companies?
Which things are you specifically talking about?
I would personally disagree with that quite strongly, I don't think they've been particularly inspired and the bar is low, but they're still much better than the openly crooked Tories who have been selling off public services to their mates who then gut them.
The country will be paying the price for years and years to come for that period of Tory leadership whereas we haven't experienced anything close to that under Starmer.
That said i am very disappointed by his stance on Israel and Iran, but i can't imagine it would be any better under the Tories either.
