I see Betis have just spent €9m on someone. Can’t imagine they’re a club with much to spend in the summer.

I read Ronaldo has a big say on transfers as part of his new deal, I wonder if he had any influence on this? Seems mad a club can spend so much on a player and then happily let him go to a club who definitely won’t have the money to pay anywhere near what was paid a few months back.

Not strange at all.

Saudi Arabia isn't like Dubai. All the money in the world can't make up for living in a country with stiff moral codes.

A sizable number of players and managers end up living in the slightly more liberal Bahrain, and commuting back and forth. Some even leave their WAGs in Europe, and fly back and forth every week.

Does the villa ownership have any ties with the Saudis. They sold him for 70m to get th2m out of a PSR spot. One billiknaire owner being helped out by a billionaire royal family? What's 70m between billionaires mates? Pocket change

Aston Villa's ownership group, led by Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, has connections to Saudi Arabia through various business interests. Nassef Sawiris, an Egyptian billionaire, has significant investments in the region, and his business dealings often intersect with Saudi interests, particularly in sectors like construction and sports.

Additionally, the broader context of Saudi Arabia's increasing investment in sports and entertainment, including football clubs and events, has led to speculation about potential partnerships or collaborations with clubs like Aston Villa. However, as of now, there is no direct ownership link between Aston Villa and Saudi entities.
