Not sure many of us wouldn't have taken a draw pre match? It is what it is atm with our performance and I'll take that, of course we can, should be better but still better than an expected loss?

Win at home and that's 4 points, not a sure thing to be fair but keeps us interested

Donovan did pretty well. Better than Ralston, even at this early stage of his development. Low bar admittedly.

As has been said, our midfield trio are a big problem so far this season. Turgid.

Who was a fcking disgrace tonight

The midfield is seriously needing looked at. Cal has lost that sharpness, Hatate hasn't looked the player he was a few years back for a long time and I've already said my piece on Nygren earlier. Don't think Engels is going to cut it either. They'll do ok in SPFL but in Europe it's not there.

True, but Japan didn't tell him in august that he could go and play for Korea only to prevent it from happening because they could not get the free transfer in from Russia before the window closed.

Very true but the point stands he played as a striker for his previous club in japan too as well as the national team so the pash about him not knowing the position is just that pash !!! He's downed tools 🤷‍♂️

Badly. We also miss prime CalMac and Hatate, but I doubt either are getting back to that level consistently.

Despite suspicions otherwise, Maeda is only human and the club have to take some responsibility for the awful situation. To get as far as allowing him to clear his locker! Could be worse could've thrown a Dembele.

Aye, the club have handled the Maeda situation appallingly … both at a personal level for the player, and also going completely against our selling model (we’ll never get the fee we could’ve got after his one stellar scoring season). Having said that, I didn’t expect him to down tools to this extent. Can totally understand why he’s seriously hacked off though. Going to be really tricky to manage this through to the Jan window now … although his current form and attitude aren’t likely to get him the big move then either.

But that's just it he IS/WAS a CF for both yokohama and the national team 🤷‍♂️

Red Star are a team that also think they should have been in the CL and are undefeated after 7 league games, so to go there and get a point is a decent outcome

Arnautovic is still a top striker and gave us a lot of problems

First half was pedestrian as we come to expect. McGregor and Hatate were slow, ponderous and watching rather than being proactive. Yang was MIA

Second half we looked like we tried to move it quickly. Trying to bring Iheanacho into it and on another day he could have had a hat trick

Donovan was good, Scales was immense.

My fears have not gone though in that when a team sit in we do not try to play it forward enough.

Not so sure. Identifying players is a long process and having come to a conclusion, clubs will not want to change their mind and presumably having packed his bags a price was agreed. The fundamentals haven't changed, only the circumstances. Thankfully, he's contracted until 2027. He will be gone but the pressure has intensified over replacements.

I thought Yang was fine yesterday , maybe having Maeda alongside him helped make him look good .

definetly a change in us second half due to bringing on Iheanacho, he gave us something to hit and feed off

I can believe i would ever say Maeda looked like a lazy wee cba coont last night .
