As to your actual point. A tribute is great but I don't think it has to be every game now, business is business and Jota was all about getting down to business.

He is missing Jota like others but I also think he is missing Diaz and Nunez.

A few weeks ago he said Arsenal are favourites cos they are a settled side. I thought he was bantering but looks like he feels with us having a brand new forward line that it will take some time to get.

There was also that social media post from a LFC fan where they said has there ever been a bigger upgrade from Nunez/Diaz to Isak/Wirtz and he replied to them asking them to respect players who won us the league which broke the internet.

He still needs to improve his own game which isn't at the usual very high standard.

I think your right, what you said also plays into the situation. You could say being 1 point from top is incredible considering all the circumstances.

He's in great shape but most players with his style of play decline well before 33. Maybe it's father time, maybe it's just a dip. Time will tell.

Brilliant players though they are I don’t think Fergie would have given either Salah or VVD new contracts he was totally ruthless with ageing stars, you have had the best out of the pair of them, he would have packed Bruno off to Saudi as well no doubt about it.

In fairness I'm not sure if SAF had many players in their 30's at the level of Salah & VVD of last season.

Many a player in great shape has declined younger than Mo. Not saying it is the case for him but while some hold him off longer than others, father time is still undefeated.

Gave Giggs a contract at 39

We gave Salah a 2 year contract knowing if he does decline that in summer 26 we can sell him for good money to Saudi so that was win win for all. I still expect Salah to perform well.

VVD has been really good for us and no sign of any decline. A bit of a misjudgment last weekend for Caicedo goal but he is still the best in the league.

From what I've seen, he doesn't seem to have slowed down physically.

I think it is just as simple as he's missing Trent. As is the whole team tbh. His passing from those deeper areas was a complete cheat code.

I expect Salah to adjust, the top players always do, but it was bound to take a bit of time. He still has put up a decent amount of numbers

Also, I don’t really like to mention Jota, but at the end of the Bournemouth game he was in absolute bits.

Mo gets a pass as far as I’m concerned.

Looks finished at the top level, will be off to Saudi to retire in the summer. Hell of a prem career.

He's 33. Nothing lasts forever, especially not forwards who rely on a bit of pace. He's been outstanding, and probs has plenty left to give. But the trajectory only goes one way.

Yep. A declining Salah just makes him Saka

A fit Saka has better end product than that and is way more involved in the game. Declining Salah is more like a past it Ronaldo where he won’t offer much if he isn’t scoring or asscysting.

I'll take a Juve Ronaldo from Salah for the next 3 seasons

I was implying a massively hyper up disappointment.

I would strongly suggest this is Salah's last year with us either way, so let's enjoy the ride. He certainly hasn't been at his best with us so far this season but he's had rough spells in the past, we've all been told he's washed up, and he's come back and smashed it.

He's probably the fittest player int he league, so not worried about that, but the team isn't functioning very well throughout.

However, he MUST do better with the chances he is getting.
