Like you Wolfie, I think, I have been a big supporter of Pereira since he arrived. Lately, however, I too am struggling to keep the faith.
If I could just blame the players on the pitch, or even simply criticise the transfer process which, I'm sure, Vitor has some control over. If I could look at the fixtures which last year contributed massively to our start. Or if I could fall back on blaming VAR.
Many of those issues are relevant, but I cannot get away from the observation that Vitor's management appears to have played a significant role. Occasionally his starting pick has seemed unwise and, above all, many of his substitution decisions have been plainly bizarre.
I'm not quite ready to give up on Pereira yet, and maybe not even if we don't get a win against Burnley. There is still time to turn things around - look at last season - but every week that time is running out.
I'm hoping that some of our new recruits will have a better impact, Arias, Lopez and maybe Tchatchoua. I'm hoping that other players will find some of their previous form, Agbadou, Toti, Sa and, of course, Larsen.
I'm hoping . . .

Spot as usual mate.
We bought a load of dross over the summer and paid way, way over the odds for them as well.
Whilst the promoted clubs were bringing in Prem proven players like DCL, Longstaff, Xhaka, Kyle Walker etc, we cast our net far and wide into the lower echelons of European football once again and hoped for the best.
I fear we’ve boxed ourselves into a corner now that changing the manager won’t get us out of.
Fosun have badly let down a succession of recent managers, recruitment has been shocking, they’ve lost touch with the fanbase (17.5% ST increase), telling the fans if they want success they’re supporting the wrong club! FFS
We are stinking up the PL at the moment, we’re contributing nothing to the brand whatsoever.

So its the coaches fault then you guy on to blame the 'at least six'?? We needed six, and without them that bench yesterday would have been hilarious.
The problem here is VP, as i warned last season and have been vocal about this season. He is misusing this squad terribly.
Lopez should be starting games, Tchatchoua, Arias, Krejci. So that is four who should be in the eleven without doubt. Wolfe would certainly be no worse than Bueno if given a chance and right now I would play Arokodare ahead of a clearly injured/underperforming JSL. The signings are not the issues at all.
Reality here is that so long as Munetsi is starting games our attacking threat in build up play will be disjointed and a mess. Yesterday again he attempted 10 passes all day. TEN.
As I said elsewhere, the gulf between Semedo and RAN and who we have now is another huge factor in our decline, it is a gaping chasm.

So, to recap.
The signings are not the issue. But there is a “gaping chasm” between what we have now and what we had last year.

We started Bueno and Doc yesterday, not new signings. But yeah, I expected a drop off given the quality of RAN and Semedo to a lesser extent, that doesn't change the fact this squad is good enough to survive in this division.

No doubt you’re seeing something in this squad that I’m not. Only time will tell who’s right I suppose.
For me, we’ve just got no quality in the final third. Just where are the goals going to come from?
Expect VP to made the scape goat and leave if we lose to Burnley, however I think the lions share of the blame lies with the owners and the business model they’ve followed for the last 2/3 seasons.
Fosun Out!

There comes a time cinci, when you have to place the blame on the abysmal run of form on the coach. It's he who sets the game plan, system, and the starting eleven. Larsen is clearly not fit and should not be playing. 12 league games without a win is unacceptable in my book. He also has dealings with the players who leave and come in.
You're very quick to pick on players, and Munetsi seems to be the fall guy for you this season. I didn't watch the whole match, but by all accounts, he was the one most likely to score.
We have a young, talented player in Mateus Mane who is bang in form, yet he's not even warming the bench.

Our attacking ability would change drastically just dropping Munetsi. We literally cannot build an attack with him one of the links to attack. It is Dave Edwards all over again, does a few things in the bix so people think he is actually useful and ignore the fact he made six passes all game. And that isn't hyperbole, he made six passes again yesterday.

I completely blame VP, I wasn't big on him last season either.
And no argument from me that Mane should have at least been a bench player yesterday instead of six defenders.
posted 4 days, 8 hours ago
The argument shouldn't be about the number of players brought in, if we'd brought in the right 6 players no one would have an issue. We definitely needed a creative forward player a creative midfielder, two wing backs and a centre back to boost the squad and give us some depth. We didn't get all those players and the ones we did get aren't all of the quality required to compete in this league. We were never going to be able to replace Cunha and RAN like for like but we should have been able to bring in players of the right quality and attitude. Instead we've brought in players of pretty average ability without the required winning mentality.
As for Pereira's position, he's clearly making some strange decisions decisions in game and tactically he's all over the place. He doesn't seem to have a clue how to get this group playing together, which is worrying given it's his squad now. We don't know to what extent the new guys were 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice but he signed off on them. He's a likeable guy and experienced coach, I would like to see him succeed, after last season I was excited to see where he could take us this term. It just isn't happening though. If he can get a result against Burnley and use that momentum to get us winning games again fine but I just don't see it happening. So in all likelihood we're looking at another sacking and January desperation splurge which should tell us that the problem isn't all about the coaches decision making. Academic anyway, I can't really see any coach getting us out of this situation. Dyche is about the only one that might and that's how far we've fallen.

You cannot run a football club by selling your best players season on season and then expect to have any quality by buying prospects.
VP got lucky last season when basically Cunha came good and we escaped relegation.
As I predicted at he end of last season we left our recruitment till the last minute and have ended up with some really poor signings.
I'm afraid that VP is a journeyman manager who flits around clubs and has basically not won anything.
Until Fosun get out of Wolverhampton then the consequences are inevitable.
posted 3 days, 15 hours ago
Following on from Boston's remarks, VP only played amateur football and has coached 14 clubs since 2004. (5 in the last 5 years). His win percentage with us is only 40% and only two other clubs he's coached are below that figure.
I think it's fair to say that he is a journeyman manager, and I feel he's out of his depth at this level, and maybe the reason Everton didn't want him. Like the rest of us, I was willing to give him a chance, but in my opinion, he's past his sell-by date.
