He probably will get some agro, it's par for the course. But Sunderland did get a good price for him, and the chairman decided it was in the club's interest to sell.

Tapped up by Villa? Houllier hadn't been in the job long, contact can't have been that great.

I think that there is very little doubt that he was tapped up mate..

I'm (reasonably) neutral here but try as I might,I just cannot imagine where to start to engineer the tapping up of Marcus Bent by Gerard Houllier!
Was it at a production of "Les Miserables",down in The West End perhaps?
Or what about a tasting session of Château d'Yquem 1990,somewhere in Sauternes,Bordeaux?

Who is this Marcus Bent

posted on 25/10/11

I don't know what kind of reception Bento will get

He was so close to being idolised like SKP or sir Niall, but he decided to 'go for the money' and did the 'dirty' on us

That makes him a subject of vilification for most, but I, for some strange reason, still wish him well . . . . I don't know why, I just do ( not on saturday, though )

One thing I do know is that he'll score

We are coming up for the match and staying in Whitley Bay for the weekend. Do any of you know if there is a bus or train service from there to your ground

Thanks

Whitley Bay??? Ya like it rough eh!
The Metro is by far your best bet...Change at Newcastle, and then you can get one right to the ground. A little tip is not to get off at The Stadium of Light station, but the next one which is called St Peter's: this station is far closer to the ground, especially the away supporters end.

Cheers STRUTH! bringing young kids and wife, now worried after reading a few articles sounds a bit of a C**p
place.

It isn't that bad mate: A nice beach and some decent eateries for families..It's on the night time bars when it can get a bit rough, so you should be fine..
You would have been better off stoppping at Roker or Seaburn in Sunderland or in nearby South Shields were it is far more civilised...

Darren Bent is ill so Alex McLeish offers to do his shopping for him. Whilst in Sainsbury's he bumps in to Roy Hodgson. 'What you doing here?' asks Woy.
'Getting a bag of potatoes for Darret Bent' replies Alex.
'Oh. Sounds like a good swap if you ask me' replies Woy.

2-1

I'm not sure about the bag of potatoes, but he is certainly a player with a chip on his shoulders..

Whitley ( or as we call it 'Tiddly' ) Bay used to be okay, but it isn't now

South Shields would have been a better bet, and, as 'STRUTH' says, it's far more civilised . . . . and it would have been much easier to get to the match

Night life is also good in 'Sheels, but you're stuck in Tiddly Bay now . . . .

By the way . . . . will your next 'derby' match be against Walsall or Bromsgrove

Oh bother, Bromsgrove went out of business last year, so it will be against The Saddlers

I shouldn't really have to explain a username, but seeing as I'm dealing with someone who is obviously a little intellectually challenged, I will make an exception..
STRUTH is derived from the words Sunderland and Truth, and nothing to do with the word strewth...I hope that helps old bean...
