Even when Cappello gets his side right, he opens his pie hole and lets everyone know what a pilchard he is
Phil Jones comparable to Baresi indeed, maybe in the same way as my mum is comparable to Baresi, whenI write "Baresi was a great footballed, but my mum has never played in her life"

I can see where Capello is coming from myself and he'll know a touch more about it than us.
I think you should read the article instead of just the title
he compares Jones to Baresi AND Hierro
Personally as much as I hate to say it but Phil Jones looks like he is going to be an absolutely superb player.

Possible I grant you, but what sort of pressure is that to stick on a lads shoulders, Baresi was one of the greats
Capello has worked with both, so is well placed to form an opinion.
All he's said, comparison wise, is Jones is a central defender by trade, who has the attributes to play CM. The only 2 players Capello has seen previous with those attributes are Baresi and Hierro. He hasn't said anywhere that I thinks Jones is as skillful, talented, successful, good looking, good in bed or anything else as those 2 legends - merely that they all share some attributes.
For the record, I think Jones is about the most exciting English talent for a generation. I'm gutted United have him and we missed out.

I think Jones is about the most exciting English prospect for a generation.
I only take issue when people take that exciting (obvious) potential and then pretend it's already been realised on the pitch. It hasn't. Not even close. But only a fool would deny the promise the lad has.

I think even if Jones remained at his current level he would be a worthy addition to the England squad and would be one of the better players in the league.
That said there is a difference between being one of the better players and an England squad player to being one of the best in the world and one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Again, gutted he's at United, but encouraging that England are producing a player with so much promise.
Agree completely.
Jones has a lot of potential, but comparing him to Baresi is really doing the kid no favours at all. The current 'Golden Generation' have all been massively over hyped. Not one of them has achieved much in international football.
Capello really should know better.

And you've drawn this conclusion based on a level of respect I've shown for a rival club's player?
Ok fella

You are the stupidest poster I've had the displeasure of coming accross on this Liverpool board, you make wakkalfc look like a genuine Liverpool fan.
I also think Phil Jones is an absolute quality player, same goes for Van Persie, Mata and David Silva. This does not make me an Arsenal, Chelsea or City fan, this just shows that I am not a completely biased idiot, with an IQ smaller than my shoe size with the inability to remove my tinted glasses, unlike you.
You're probably one of those prîcks that wears sunglasses at night aren't you.

showing respect for another club's player is hardly 'losing identity' it's having a bit of common nouse and not slating a player simply because he happens to play for a rival club. that just makes you look silly.
I'm not saying you have to necessarily go out of your way to priase them if you don't feel inclined to do so, but to actively slate them based on nothing but the fact they play for a rival is, well, silly.
fred bassett - its different with arsenal and chelsea, but against man united its pure hatred, try poppin down to Anfield sumitmes, with a bit of luck u might learn some passion. please refrain from posting on my article if all u can come up with is that i wear sunglasses at night.
