I think it'll be a draw

Well it is hard to see where the change is going to come from that will start bringing in the results. Doesn't look like a quick fix either.

I dont think a couple of half decent results will do us any good long term, we would probably be better off losing them.

If we dont have a radical overhaul at HQ we will be papering over the cracks, maybe nicking a CL spot here and there, but challenging for the league, nah

I, for one, am going to keep positive!

Yes, we've been in dismal form, but that's all that football ever is, form.

If City lost 2 on the bounce and Utd won 1 drew 1 what do you think would happen to their odds of winning the league?

If Spurs lost 2 on the bounce how many people would predict them top 3?

watching from the outside, it appears that the players are not happy with the managers philosophy. theres not confidence in him. the manager also doesnt seem to to know exactly everything he's doing. he's got the torres thing messed up, same with drogba, keeps playing mikel.

he should play:
ivanovic, alex, terry, cole
meirelles, luiz,
mata, romeu, ramires
sturridge

that would be interesting to watch and let them have 5 to 7 games playing together.

just my opinion

Phil - That team actually isn't the worst idea, though i'd definitely swap Meireles and Romeu, and Luiz at DM is an untested thing. (Well actually apparently Benfica tried it and it went badly, don't know whether as a lone DM or part of the double pivot system)

i think you actually the players to have a go.

right now you have nothing to lose.
us at united could do with a Mata, Ramires or Romeu style player.

And whilst Luiz hasnt been tested there, he'll do better as a DM than Mikel. Plus i dont think he can play centre half the way he does in the Premiership. He's too reckless

cleverley

Agre entirely - been saying that for months especally re Luiz in DM & Alex a shoe in starter with JT

Berty needs a couple of games in place of Ash too

posted on 30/11/11

im surprised Alex doesnt start more games.

and romeu and meireles need to start games. playing josh and lukaku as well in more games.

nothing against lampard, malouda, anelka, drogba but they've had their best days and kalou and mikel just cant justify being in the squad anymore.

someone said the other day (on here)- the five clean sheets we've had - alex played in them all

I don't actually recall us having 5 - it might be right though

I´d go with:

.....................................Cech............................

Brana..................Luiz.............JT..............Ash

..................................Romeu.........................

.....................Ramires...............Meireles........

............Sturridge............Torres.......Mata...........

I have stated on Spurs 606 that many of these top 6 games will be draws (ie "zero sum" ) . So tis the so-called lesser teams that you must look for the 3 pts (as well as winning at home) .

That is the only reason Spurs are flying now (their perennial weakness has gone AWOL) .

PS :

Coming out of the other side of that with some good results, would be the impetus for 2012 for your lot.

We can win all those games IMO,AVB just needs to stick to the same team that played against Wolves with the exception of Drogba until January. Spurs game will be a piece of cake

posted on 30/11/11

I think we can win at Newcastle if we play to our potential. I actually think we will get 3 points on Saturday.

I think we will go out to Valencia though.

posted on 30/11/11

Hoping the Spurs game will be "must win" for you by then.
Will make the 3 pts easier for us to take.

Biggish :

Don't you have to win ??

I heard something about a nil-nil, but you cannot play for that (even if you had Rooneys' dad + Grobelaar + Pakistan cricket team involved) .

RDBD.............

As you say we can´t play for a 0-0, and I also believe it is almost an impossible result given what both teams need to achieve.

The reality is we will need to score a minimum of two goals to go through.

I can see this game going the same way as the Barcelona match. We take an early lead and then concede in the dying minutes and go out on a 1-1 draw.

Still, a chance is a chance. Better than having none.

Valencia's away record is dreadful,I think you are giving them too much credit. I'm confident we will get 3 points provided AVB picks the right team.

posted on 30/11/11

Trouble is AVB hasn't got the first idea what that is...(it would seem)

That's why we are where we are

I think we'll get through the Valencia tie, not that it's much to crow about, we'll probably get pasted in the knockout round. I have very lttle confidence that we can beat any team home or away in the top 10 of the PL as we have yet to do so this season.

posted on 30/11/11

I would agree with all your predictions bar City...........

You only think we'll lose 3-1?

posted on 30/11/11

Conservatively - yes...probably no
