No idea Jacko, I love going to all the old stadiums, Cas, Wakey, Saints, Batley etc,,, Perhaps the mindset is different as the lads playing the game dont cheat, dont feign injury, dont earn fortunes, get stuck in and get battered as well as having respect for the referee ??? The fans are not caged in, segregated or told they cannot have a drink, It is great to be able to swap ends at half time to get a different view of the action too,,, I enjoy it far more than footy nowadays.

Not that anyone on here will 'approve'...!
But yeah Jacko, spot on I used to go & watch Halifax RLFC on Sundays, (you might not believe this ? We had a choice !!!! We could stand OR sit )
great days, great games, happy memories,
"Totally different. Why ? " I can't answer it either Jacko, & I bet Brycey feels the same, Stood any & everywhere, with rival fans too, hand full of cops, & no such thing as Stewards,

It's going into politics....
Problem, Reaction, Solution.
It's sad.
It's all about Control.
The post's by U 12090 & Bryce confirm this.

Looks like the thread is RE-Activated Lou'

Blimey...As usual though, it's the mindless minority that spoil it for everyone. Football hooliganism, an offshoot of the youth rebellion of the 60's, probably was less than 5% of the crowd...but everyone was made to suffer under new ground regs...and it was social hooliganism, not football hooligans...these idiots caused trouble everywhere they went...but football got stigmatised, and instead of banning them, they over reacted.

You'll remember standing in the main terrace at Leeds Road, mingling with the away fans from Man Utd and Newcastle...minor problems with drunks but everyone mingled, women, kids, old fogeys...at half time you could walk along the running track and go and stand behind the goals at the other end for the 2nd half...or buy a pork pie which was thrown up to you from the guy walking round the track, and you threw the money down to him..

I won't say 'those were the days', but in a way there seemed to be more awe and wonder then, and kids got lifted to the front, and looked after by the adults there, without fear of being abused or bloomin kidnapped..Society has moved a long way from all that.

Here's a question or 2

1 When the Rugby is played at the Galpharm do the same standing rules apply

2 When the stadium stages a concert do the same standing rules apply.

The reason i ask is that if it so dangerous to stand in a all seater stand at the football then surely the same dangers exist at the football.

More questions....

Why is it Dangerous for 700 Town fans to stand in the South Stand(when we wre permitted) and told to sit down every 2 mins but it's safe for 4000 Leeds/Sheff Wed fans to stand up for 90mins. Surely it's more dangerous when it's full?

Final question.
How many serious inncidents have occured in this country from people standing in an all seater stadium?

I'll have a crack at some off your questions 'U 12'.

1 When the Rugby is played at the Galpharm do the same standing rules apply

apparently Not. !

2 When the stadium stages a concert do the same standing rules apply.

Definitely Not,

Why is it Dangerous for 700 Town fans to stand in the South Stand(when we wre permitted) and told to sit down every 2 mins but it's safe for 4000 Leeds/Sheff Wed fans to stand up for 90mins. Surely it's more dangerous when it's full?

There is NO danger what so ever...(That would mean the Kop at Anfield is Dangerous in the extreme - It clearly isn't) I'd suggest It is more to do with....Doing as your told by 'authority'...."Don't think, WE"LL decide what you can & can't do". The all seeing eye ! & your cctv'd all along the way....Shame the cctv's weren't above every desk, in every Bank to catch proper criminals .

Final question.
How many serious inncidents have occured in this country from people standing in an all seater stadium?

I'd say NONE.

& Just to continue on from Jacko's comments,
The Kids should still be allowed to go to the front, Common sense doesn't exist in the type of people who apply & are chosen to do these 'health & safety' jobs..
(read Bryce's comments about his dealings with them above, It would be Hilarious if it wasn't true)
It's all about making people fearful without the 'system' to look after them,
All the kids go to the front at, Aussie Rules, Cricket, Rugby League & Union..& lo & behold Perth Glory too.
No Kidnappings, No Molestings , No mental breakdowns (despite the results ) with 'counseling' required.

Of course there are problems now, because everyone is lumped together under the same instructions, There would be arguments & possibly fights in the Kop if the seating rule was 'enforced'..... But common sense prevails, Those who don't want to have their view interrupted continually have a CHOICE.... ....WOW ! Who thought of that one.
They sit darn the touchline sides, Where no one stands up, Everyone is happy

Whats happened to everyone's Spirit ?
They're grinding you darn & you can't see it. (Not all of you )
