It's only professional (and relevant) if he's speaking in his capacity as a board member of the Foundation.
Ripley - what are you talking about? The man is the Chairman of the Kick it Out campaign and also part of the Man United board. How can he seen to be impartial? Why is he commenting on this with vitriol?
He has a conflicting interest.

Tommy, you're welcome.
TOOR - he's commenting because he's the Chair of the Kick It Out campaign.
And he's not part of United's board by the way.
He is part of manu's foundation board.
Therefore quite clearly he is involved in some of the internal administration of the manu p.r. machine.
This is to my way of thinking a good thing.
Anybody who actually makes the effort to give up their time for charitable causes can't be all bad.
But as a result of this work he quite clearly has an association with manu.
This therefore quite clearly creates a conflict of interest in this situation.
It doesn't mean he is being deliberately dishonest.
It doesn't mean he is deliberately pro-manu.
But it does mean he has a natural and understandable bias towards them.
If a judge in a court case has personal knowledge of anyone involved in a case he has to step aside.
It doesn't mean he is a cheat it just means there is a conflict of interest.
In this instance ouseley should not have released a statement as head of the kick it out campaign.
If the campaign wished to make a statement it should have been draughted by their committee and released through a press officer
ouseley should have owned up to a conflict of interest and removed himself from the process.

Don't see him on the board
The board of Manchester United Limited is Joel Glazer (Co-chairman), Avram Glazer (Co-chairman), Bryan Glazer, Kevin Glazer, Edward Glazer, Darcie Glazer, David Gill (Chief Executive), Michael Bolingbroke (Chief Operating Officer), Ed Woodward (Chief of Staff).
The board of Manchester United Football Club are David Gill, Michael Edelson, Sir Bobby Charlton and Maurice Watkins.

So just a charity under the name of Manchester United and nothing to do with the actual club? Thought so

My god is this guy dumb. I thought he was just playing dumb yesterday but he has confirmed it today.

Ouseley wasn't involved in the case, nor was the Kick It Out organisation. So there is no conflict of interest in that regard.
Nor is Ouseley involved in any internal administration of Manchester United Football Club, just as the likes of Eamonn Holmes are not involved in any internal administration of Manchester United Football Club.
As Chair of Kick It Out, he is absolutely entitled to comment on this case however. That doesn't mean his opinion is biased, or because of his involvement with the Manchester United Foundation that there is any conflict of interest. That is nothing but a rather crass allegation that has been created by Liverpool fans as an avenue in which to discredit his comments in regards to the Suarez-Evra case.

Rather not agreeing with the claim that there is a conflict of interest.
The simple fact Ripley is that this man is involved with Manchester United and obviously is biased in their favour, which explains the vitriol he came out with. He has abused his position as chairman of the Kick it Out campaign, to spout his vitriol, without anybody knowing that he is involved with Man United.
This involvement means he has a conflict of interest and has abused his position to get at Liverpool.
Now the world knows that he is involved with United and can disregard his disgraceful comments.
Sorry TOOR, it doesn't explain the "vitriol" he came out with. It just gives you an excuse to dismiss his claims.

To be honest Tommy everyone can see that there is a conflict of interest, some just won't admit it though because it doesn't fit comfortably with their viewpoint.
Or rather it's easy to say there is a conflict of interest because that sits comfortably with your own viewpoint...
