Seriously does anyone believe

I know one ST holder who is virtually prepared to come to blows with me over my anti-Bates views. I have long since given up trying to enlighten him, so I guess there must be others who are prepared to hoover up Bates' spin. As a mate of my says, as a fan-base, we seem to do very little in the way of making our feelings heard about the way the club is being run (into the ground), and Bates is laughing all the way to his Monaco bank. My feeling is ST sales will be down this time, not that we have that many anymore and the walk ups at ER will continue to dwindle, commensurate with the quality of the football being played. Very sad to witness.

And anyone who has, needs to have a word with themselves

LIW if it is true, what is wrong with them writing to him, are you saying folk cannot have their own opinion and express it.

Not everyone follows your lead or share's your view.

people think once we get back in prem, everyone will come flooding back.

We'll get lower than 30000 for some games in the prem

Eric

Where did I say it was wrong to write to him.

Am saying anyone saying thanks for freezing far too expensive Season tickets need to have a word with themselves and look at the bigger picture

LIW
The way the club is being run you can forget the Prem. Its a pipe dream that has never been further away IMO, as, barring the sprinkle of promising kids ( that Bates will sell on), the team we had in League One was far superior to this shower. A team with belief, ambition and commitment, none of those things are evident now, sad to say.

LIW

But they might be happy, just because you are not it doesn't mean they have to agree with you does it?

totally agree with Eddie BATES has no intention of financing a push otherwise we would have had Andrews a right back and a central defender here already and why is AOB still here

Eric

If there happy with the fan base destroyed, like ive said, they need a word with themselves

LIW

Ken Bates when he says fans have been writing into him thanking him for the special offer of freezing season tickets prices.

That's probably what they are happy with.

That's probably what they've written about.

bates wants to keep us in the championship, can you imagine if we got promoted he would have to spend

Like I say if there happy with paying 30-50 % more for a season ticket than at clubs like leicester and Forest, they need to have a word with themselves

I read that season tickets were going to cost between £400-550 with juniors at £100 and match day ticket prices were coming down in a major drive to get the fans back to support our push for the premier league.
Then i woke up.

posted on 12/1/12

Bottom line.

If he put the prices up, he would lose money on the amount of fans not renewing thus relying on buy on the day ticket sales, he is never going to drop the prices, but i think some pressure from the fans has got to him, in more ways than just ticket prices imo.

Don

Forest a big club, a northern club, I think is a fair comparison to Leeds.

Trent end, equivelent to our Kop.

this season

Renewals

Forest £370
Leeds £516

New

Forest £397
Leeds £612

And people wonder why the crowds are down.

Then you get people like eric, happy with the fan base getting destroyed.

Perhaps those people that write to him actually put in a little more than LIW thinks and perhaps Ken Bates only comments on part of the letters he receives!

Perhaps folk that engage with him in an adult fashion are being more effective than those ranting inanely on a forum that the fellow doesn't read?

Just a thought.

As long as youve people like eric defending the destroying of a fan base, you fighting a losing battle.

Maybe you'll be happy when were playing at south leeds stadium

??

Where have I said this LIW?

You are suggesting folk that have thanked Ken Bates should look at themselves, I am merely saying perhaps they did that before they wrote to him?

And another note

Forest main stand

New season ticket holders

U12 £67

Leeds united

u12 £750

But you have the happy clappy brigade like eric, thinking its great

posted on 12/1/12

If LIW's figures are correct, thats staggering. I knew we weren't the cheapest and clubs like Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan were around half the price of ours for Premiership football. No wonder Bates wouldn't contemplate selling up, its like having your own personal ATM. I still think the gravy trains heading for the buffers and there will be a firesale of any talent we do have before Bates does one.

Eddie I always back up with facts

It is staggering, no wonder we've a really low turnout of season ticket holders

posted on 12/1/12

Mates of mine was paying less than £400 for a ST for Birmingham when they were in the Prem. He was staggered to find mine cost £700+. Even allowing for EPL revenues etc.... thats still an amazing and scandalous difference.

There's no question about my renewal - i will be. But i do begrudge the cost if i'm honest, and the cost for a kid is utterly ridiculous.

I'm not saying our tickets are cheap because they'e not.

But while you're comparing our prices to Forest why not compare our attendances too?

Ours aren't great but Forests should be better bearing in mind your comparison of the clubs and their cheap prices?

Latest forest game Leicester at home in Cup 18,477 and rumour has it Leciester took between 5 and 8k!!

Previous league game against Ipswich 18,964 on the same day we had 27,295 against Burnley. We definitely had more expensive tickets that day thats for sure.

Speaking of Ipswich, why don't you compare our "sat on the half way line tickets" with theirs at over £1k ?

As for the question do I believe Ken Bates?
Do I hell, but you don't have to dig up price comparisons for most Leeds fans to agree with you.

posted on 12/1/12

I like sausages.

Forest havent and never had a fan base as big has ours, so I dont see your point

And Ipswich are higher there, whats your point, there crowds have gone down 9k.

posted on 12/1/12

You're saying that our fanbase is being eroded because our ticket prices are high and comparing us to Forest.

My point is that Forests attendances have dropped too despite their prices being significantly lower than ours.

You've inferred that Forest is a club of similar size to us anyway to be fair.

Attendances have dropped over the past few years at a lot of grounds around the country but not because their prices are high in relation to other clubs, more that football in general is overpriced. Money is tight for a lot of people at the moment and football is a luxury which some are willing/having to forgoe. (To me or you its more likely a neccessity )

Do I think our prices are too high? Yep
Do I think our price level is the main reason for a decline in attendances? Nope
