Rafa was brilliant. Would love to have him back!
So what are you trying to say. You want him back.
Rafa Benitez
The manager in waiting at LFC. If it hadn't been for the chaos of the takeover, he would still be at the club.

I'd love him back!
If Kenny doesn't get us any further than 6 and we sacked him and rehired Rafa, giving Rafa a decent budget then I'd definitely not be too upset .
I am a young Liverpool fan, and have only seen us play under four managers (Houiller, Benitez, Hodgson and now Kenny), and I would say Benitez was the best from those four. His tactical knowledge was/is his key attribute as a manager, and it gives me so many happy memories (4-0 beating of Madrid, 4-1 beating of United...).
The only manager to achieve something to the standard of the 70s/80s, and I hope he returns one day.
The players did seem to be getting tired of Benitez, one moment i remember was the look on Gerrards face when we were drawing and Benitez pulled Torres off.

I love Rafa as a manager and as a man...all round top man. Appreciated LFC and what it means.
Id have him back in an instant ..no doubt
Remember when Benitez brought Gerrard off in a derby against Everton for Lucas?
Later, Lucas won us a penalty, and Kuyt scored to win us the game!
Lambo
Agreed on Torres, Gerrard is thought to despise him now after the event.
The takeover and chaos at the club put many players like Torres Masch and Riera (who called us a sinking ship) to give up.
We have Hicks and Gillette to thank for that.
well said LAMBO! everyone forgets that point
So would you lot take him back?
I was devastated when he left, as he had been the best thing to happen to us in twenty years. I'd certainly take him back, although I wouldn't have the heart to give Kenny the boot.
You can't let your heart rule your head though TOOR.
Despite who Kenny is, I treat him like any other manager.
Don't get me wrong i always got behind Rafa, and when we were being linked with Woy i nearly shát myself...i was very ill
But if he came back now he would want to spend a lot of money, I can't see Carroll or Downing fitting in with his style.
Fred
I would but Id rather we gave Kenny as long as possible to get us back in the top four.
What I liked about Rafa was when we had problems in defence or attack he was saying not to get worried and he would fix the problems. He managed to fix them without getting into the transfer market. I'm sure by now he would've solved our lack of goals problem this season. He would have found ways to get the best out of Carroll and Downing.
Currently I would stick with Kenny untill his contract runs out (except if we finish any lower than 6th). Kenny has only been here for a year, and has achieved alot over that year.
Kenny is only getting started, and once the likes of Kelly, Flanagan, Coates, Wilson, Robinson, Sterling, Suso, Henderson, Shelvey, Spearing, Morgan, Carroll...start to mature we will be fighting for the top trophys.
We have just started to open the door with Kenny, and we are yet to walk through it.

I very fine description.
I think Rafa would like Downing. Lets not forget that Benitez played Riera consistently, before his little spat about 'sinking ships'.
Downing is very similar to Riera's style, and Benitez liked his hard working players as much as the next guy. The likes of Henderson and Downing are no different to the likes of Lucas and Kuyt.
