anyone would be better then wenger even my dead grandad
Answer my question ska, when bruce rioch was in charge did you know of wenger? i didnt there is a whole world out there with hungry managers so when a question like yours is asked i honestly say what i just wrote
You seriously think that Wenger has done a bad job to get you in a champions league spot year after year on a far smaller budget than your rivals?
Also if we would of got rid of him 2 seasons ago like i wanted the new manager ould of maybe seen the team drop out but i bet we would be back now given the time and fresh signings
The plastics seem to think they can do a better job. let them take control.
There's a fair statement Fanboy. However, Rioch didn't have Arsenal in any where near the same level as Wenger has you now.
wengers recent buys have been poor.a 6foot6 inch defender who cant jump or head a ball a spanish midfielder with no pace and cant seem to knock a forward pass.keeping hold of players like arshavin, rosicky and squillachi who are just not good enough
Any manager who can adress the obvious failures in that Arsenal team, no fight. Complete bottlers.
I will always admire Arsene for what he's done for the club, but there is a day when a manager's time is up. I am still hoping he gets us out of this mess we're in, but I'm just too angry right now with the players and the management. If he can still miraculously get us 4th spot, then I want him to stay. Otherwise he has to leave because he has no defensive awareness at all.
Poor defensive set-up - we don't deserve to win because of that
Something got to be done, whether investing more cash into the team or changing of the managements. How long are we going to wait for a trophy, cup or whatever you call it? We are losing much grounds to top teams as time goes by.
Graham did prettyn well before thats my point success then maybe a stop gap with rebuilding, there bis life after a manager man u will still be great after fergie there will be transition but with wenger he says every year transition, young players maturin etc.I think he has not lost the pot maybe his hunger
Serious question

If Wenger were to leave, what makes you think anyone who comes in would do a better job with the financial restraints Wenger has? How many managers are there available that would come in and 100% improve your fortunes?
---------------------------
David Moyes. You think Wenger is 'financially constrained' ? Think again.
David Moyes would be competing for the title if he had the funds available at even at Arsenal
Moyes? Are you aware of the vast wage bill Everton have in comparison to the mid table clubs they are competing with? Moyes is just another overrated Scot.
The problem is far worse than you think.
When we had Rioch, there was a man who controlled the entire spending and scouting networks. That was David Dein. We have no one now. We haven't had a 'football' man at board level since he left 6 years ago. And guess what we have won nothing since then.
The dismantling of the club started in the summer when we sold our two most key players. It starts with Gazidis and works all the way down the club.
I wouldn't even trust the board to replace Wenger properly let alone have the capacity to build a squad! Thats why are far better with Wenger than without him.
That's a very good point, Jenius. I have often said the problems started with the new board set up and the money wasted moving to the Emirates. Would you be better if you stayed at Highbury? Possibly, not definite - but you would have more money to spend.

If there was more transparency about finances - where you could see if Wenger has money to spend or not. Would you ease up on him if it turns out he's working on almost nothing?

SKA aka TheRealJasonLowe, the problem was not moving from Highbury.
It was a bad business model based on funding the move by selling property! We had very averagely rich shareholders who have all left. Now have an American who thinks his most important business is St Louis Rams and not Arsenal, even though Arsenal are valued much more than Rams.
Our best way out is if he sells up to Usmanov quickly. Give the money to Arsene and actually allow him to build a squad with money rather than loans of free transfers.
But after one poor result after some rather brilliant matches recently, do you not think you may be overreacting?
"But after one poor result after some rather brilliant matches recently, do you not think you may be overreacting?"
Not at all. Most of us could see this coming for a while. We haven't scored more than one goal for the last 5/6 home games.
We lost to Fulham and barely beat avg teams, drawing against Wolves.
There is no midfield cohesion with Aaron. He has been very poor. Add Arshavin, Chamakh and Rosicky all waiting to leave. That leads to a divided dressing room without any commitment.
I fear Arsene making statements that no one of any consequence was coming in could lead to a very poor run of games. That would mean have no chance of qualifying for the CL positions.
Its not an over reaction because its asymptomatic of our recent play. I am fearful a lot of these type of results and mid table without some serious infusion of new blood.
I suppose the amount of injuries you have at the moment didn't help either - do you think they might be able to bring the team back into form?
"do you think they might be able to bring the team back into form?"
Actually our defence has been stand out. Thats where the injuries occurred. We have been vulnerable at left back but with Vermealean and Gibbs back soon there will be no problems.
The issue from the start of the season has been fluidity in our passing game. Thats required to maintain possession. Thats how Arsene has always constructed his teams. The reason why we haven't been free scoring is because Ramsey has been awful. Whether its the injury or development, he is not ready. Now ordinarily that puts pressure on the defenders because we are not scoring freely. But they stood up to it. We have not conceded first and in fact held onto tight score lines.
Today Arsene put Ramsey in a defensive position and his whole game was exposed. Just like it was at the start of the season. He was responsible for all 3 Swansea goals. Now if Arsene does not buy in his position, we will have to throw Wilshere in that role or push Arteta up. That may work or it may not. Neither are proven creators. Thats the problem!
If we had Diaby back, Arsene could have taken the gamble in Wilshere higher up the pitch because Diaby has the pace to move from deeper midfield to attack. That takes the pressure of the creator position. But we don't have him. So Arsene has to buy or we will not finish in the top 4. Thats more vital to Arsenal than anyone else. We don't have an astute owner.
