Its all about opinions aycliffe, don't take things personally...

i don't harj, it's just tiresome listening to the same ramblings day after day.

Well said.
I'm Leeds thru and thru and I want us to be up there with the best but I accept we don't have as much money as other clubs and so we have to just get on with it and get behind the team!
I don't agree with all SG's signings but I know he loves the club and will be making sure he learns from last season's mistakes and getting the best players we can afford.
Loads of Championship and Premiership clubs are living way above their means and will pay for it sooner or later like we did.

Grayson Hater? No. Doubter? Yes.
Bates Hater? No. But, I definitely don't like him. And I absolutely don't trust him.
Miserable? No. I'm generally very happy. But, I do find
it frustrating being a Leeds fan. Stop being a Leeds fan
you say? I can't. That's not something any supporter of
any club can do. For better or for worse. I do see your point though. If you think everything Leeds is just darn rosy, then all power to you. If you think it's all negative,
same applies. I'm trying to get to your side of things.
Unfortunately, my club keeps doing things that make
me scratch my head. I hope we get our team together
fast. And I hope we can challenge the top teams. It
would help if our club did something quickly, to give us something to cheer about. That's all. Something.
Aycliffe, I wish I had your outlook. I really do. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Until then, I'll keep reading, and smiling, and laughing
at the entertaining posts on here. Including yours. And I'll thank my lucky stars that I support a club that can generate every level of feeling and emotion. Good and bad. And that I have a forum like this that welcomes both.
So, I for one will pass on the rope and razor blades and remind you that nowhere on ja606 does it say that any individual has to read every post on here. If you don't like the subject matter or viewpoint of a post, ignore it.
And to show you that I am sincere, I offer a big cyber hug to the wonderful (and entertaining) Koppite. Cheers Koppite! Here's to differing opinions! Hurrah!

lufc rosy. good reply.

i don't think everything is rosy, like you there are aspects i dislike.

but i choose to "support" leeds. i love being a leeds fan, good times and bad times.

i just choose not to dwell on the things i have no control over.

the only thing i can do as a fan, is get to ER as often as possible and cheer the boys on.

always marching!

that exactly how i see things wilmslow. get on with it and get behind the team!

So does that mean you agree with Bates charging kids adult prices?
Does it mean Bates can charge any price for tickets and we should be happy when he creams off our cash?
Does it mean we should believe the endless lies spouting from the mouth of Bates?
Just for the record I live, sleep, drink Leeds United.
I am the proudest Leeds United fan.
However Bates is NOT Leeds United and he will NEVER get my support.

A comment I really dislike is, if you think we have no chance then why waste your money?
Clearly you know very little about being a Leeds United fan,I would be a proud Leeds United fan even if we get relegated every season for the next umpteen years.
What I can not accept is Bates and all he brings to our great football club.

Cracking Article and some good responses
I admit i lean more to Aycliffes side but respect other opinions , as i'm sure he does himself.

And I agree with you Aycliffe. Most people standing where you are don't believe that a fan can support a team unless they support it no matter what. I'm in the camp that sees it another way: I (and others) will always
and I mean ALWAYS support Leeds United. But, that doesn't mean I agree to not question or scratch my head when individuals affiliated to the club do odd things - namely Bates. Yes, he owns the club. But, and I'll say this til I die, he is not Leeds United. That honour is saved for the likes of Don Revie, Bremner and the like. But, more importantly, the generations of fans that have followed this club from birth to grave. That's what makes Leeds United and any club a CLUB. The fans. If Bates sold up tomorrow, would anyone say: :There goes a man who was Leeds United through and through." No. They'll say: "What's our new Chairman going to be all about?"

Leeds United (and as I keep saying, any club) is much bigger than any individual. People on here keep throwing the retort at moaners "Well, tell us what you do like about the club WUM/Heretic/Numpty/Witch."
Unfortunately, it really can't be defined easily. Not if you're born into the fandom of a particular club. It simply means everything to you. You live and breath it.
You love it when we win. You're devastated when we lose. You question or you don't question the reasons
why. And as Harj says, it's all opinions. Which for the most part, good or bad, are born of passion for our Club.

he can charge whatever he likes, it's up to us as fans to decide whether or not we want to pay. whilst i might think it's expensive, and he "creams off cash" it won't stop me going. moaning about it won't bring the prices down.

Does it mean we should believe the endless lies spouting from the mouth of Bates? you can choose to believe whatever you like

but i choose not to ram it down peoples throats at every given opportunity.

what can i do? other than get on with it, or stop going. i choose to get on with it and get behind the team.

if you don't wanna pay the prices, don't go. simple.

If papa would just stop saying stuff like 'we can get any players we want & our promotion season starts here' etc etc & not back it up by signing quality players who would make the difference...instead of looking out for himself all the time & ripping us off !!...we might then be thinking maybe he did 'save us'

"Clearly you know very little about being a Leeds United fan" 33 years a leeds fan, man and boy.

and i'm glad you disliked that comment. it was intended to annoy the likes of you!

we get the point you want to bring kids prices back to er. change the record!
the questions you asked me, are the usual things you spout on every other thread i've seen your name.

posted on 22/6/11

Aycliffe, that is a very negative reply.
Dont go if you dont like it? Well that is happening and will decay our amazing fan base.
Do you really want ER half empty?
Think before you reply.
Or just maybe you want empty stands?
That is not the reply of a passionate fan that loves Leeds United.

posted on 22/6/11

aycliffe! It's not that simple. It's not a question if you want to pay the price. It's a question if you can afford to pay. Every true Leeds United supporter would go to ER on matchdays if he/she had the opportunity AND could afford it. Simple!

posted on 22/6/11

Aycliffe, what if tickets were £90?
Everyone has a different budget. You are being selfish

posted on 22/6/11

a negative response ha ha. pot, kettle.

you do nothing but complain and moan on every thread. i don't think i have ever read a positive post from you ever.

your exactly right, i want elland road empty.
i don't want elland road empty, i love nothing more than a full house at elland road rocking.

but i don't want to be surrounded by the likes of you.

"That is not the reply of a passionate fan that loves Leeds United." well if we are basing this on your definition of passion - constantly being down on everything connected with leeds. then i guess you're right, i'm not passionate.

posted on 22/6/11

i wouldn't pay if the price was £90. i can't afford to go to every game. my budget is probably no different to yours. i have a mortgage and 2 kids, and have to travel down from the north east. if i can't afford to go i don't.

but i don't complain about it

posted on 22/6/11

i also said if you don't WANT to pay the prices, don't go. not if you can't afford it, don't go. 2 different things

posted on 22/6/11

In these days of austerity, sensible advice is go to the games you can afford.

posted on 22/6/11

Aycliffe, you really are misguided. Maybe you should complain if Bates is pricing you and many out of ER.
As for you dont want me at ER,you dont even know me,yet another bind comment with no substance.
You may love Bates and his policies and you are entitled to say so but you dont know me so why the comments?

posted on 22/6/11

Aycliffe, You've made some cracking & fair points but you're getting far too involved with the comments posted onto here.
Its just a message board & a lot of comments on here will not shared by the majority of fans down at ER, a lot are born simply out of frustration, the moment they hear some news they don't like, they will immediately post their negative thoughts.

Take last year on 606 for example after the Bury defeat in preseason.

Comments at the time were , certain relegation, mass protests at Bates down at the ground, losing our entire fan base, crowds will be down to 16K, we need to ground share, we need an entire new background staff.
Hilarious comments to read but fans were just letting off steam at the time.

None of that materialised.
We will still get the fans in at outrageous prices, Grayson will still be the manager & Bates will still be in charge until someone else coughs up.

Just take the comments with a pinch of salt & just enjoy the debate & messgaes, just don't take things so seriously on here!
