the thing is Kenny has spent poorly so the yanks will be alot more cautious with the chequebook now.
Downing and Carroll have been pi$$ poor and Henderson has struggled on the right wing, maybe because HE AIN'T A RIGHT WINGER.
Adam has slowly go worse and worse as theseason has progressed as well.
I wouldn't give Camolli and Kenny £20 for a chinesse take away, let alone 20 million for a Right winger or a centre forward.
Do they have to be attractive?
I don't think Kenny is defensive by any means. I just think he bought players and uses them, in a system that doesn't suit them. He has now had plenty of time to learn this but persists with it. Time to abandon this system now, against the smaller teams and unleash wingers, with two strikers in the box and Stevie getting in around the box also.
If we don't play with wingers, don't play Carroll! Maxi looks to cut in and play short, quick passes and one-twos. This isn't going to work out for Carroll. He needs Downing on the left and Bellamy on the right. Get Kuyt and Carroll in the box!
Kenny's tactics have been a disaster this season and this is in most part trying to fit the players he's bought into a system which doesn't suit them. Maybe he thinks he can teach them to learn the system but I'm not so sure. However he knows better than I do and sees them on the training pitch. I just pray he learns from these tactical disasters.
The manager picks his coaches and inturn they pick the team and the tactics!
Jordan Henderson has constantly been played on the right wing, why? He's a centre mid, so playing him in the wrong position will drain his confidence and not utilise his true potential!
Stuart Downing, another player constantly played out of position on the rightside when he's leftfooted!
Kenny started 5 at the back against stoke and even though they only had crouch up front, he refused to change it!
You trust who you want but don't tell everyone else that they're wrong! IKMJIR
In Kenny My judgment is reserved!
Kenny bought poorly and now that Lucas and Suarez are out he's feeling the full extent of just how poor those signings were.

Kenny has made us hard to beat.
Unless you are Bolton
Kenny's only human. He is trying to put together a cohesive unit and it doesn't happen just like that, he needs time to fine tune the system with the existing players.
I think its too early to judge his signings, Henderson especially, but Carroll does seem like a bad buy at this stage. Then again, he may still prove all the doubters wrong this or next season.
TOOR,
We can't play with two wingers while Lucas is out IMO.
Neither Adam nor Henderson can play in a midfield two for differing reasons.
Lucas (or a DM in general) is the answer to this and we don't have one.

In Kenny I Trust But Sometimes I Have My doubts About His Tactics, I Would Like Rafa Back But Want Kenny To Get A Fair Shot First.
Are we going too far now?
Kenny's only really gotten the tactics wrong v Spurs and Bolton.
And Henderson has always been a right mid.
He only played in the centre to cover for injuries
redconn,
I have seen you sayb this before but I simply do not agree.
He's not played a 100 games yet in his career. He has played plenty at CM for both Sunderland and u21's and for me he is in no way a RM.

I'm pretty sure there is something in there about Rafa giving us great nights as a red and istanbul being the best i can remember.
Who else if the unlikely happens at the end of the season?

So the tactics against stoke where right where they?
He played right mid for Sunderland and got all sorts of praise. Even Fergie was in on it.
Then Sunderland had a lot of injuries and he got moved to CM. And I think he did a good job.
Pearce used him at DM and put Sturridge and cleverly higher up the pitch and macienne or someone else next to him. Then ordered Jones and Smalling to hoof it over his head and aim at welbeck.
He's a right mid and has done a job elsewhere depending on where the manager needed him. His passing is very good so he fits in a lot of places. I don't think he's very good at defending though.
