I don't think its true molby however what makes you so sure we won't?

Why would Cavani go to Liverpool anyway?
Here we go, another Spurs fan...
Why would Cavani go to Liverpool anyway?
------
He wouldn't. There is no way he would and I completely share your incredulity over why on earth such a player would consider joining such a lowly club like liverpool, with their tiny global fanbase and pathethic record of having won most major trophies of any english club. I'm sure if he was going to go anywhere it would be to those footballing behemoths, spurs.
mlf,
Cavani might like to hang around with his good buddy Luis.
Plus there is no way in hell that he would join Liverpool especially since two of his international teammates are here.
On a serious note, this is probably as accurate as the rest of the players we have been linked to. But if Liverpool had a bid accepted, he would come.

Why would Cavani go to Liverpool anyway
------------------------------------------------
Same reason Mascherano,Suarez,Alonso,Torres did
Why did Bellamy choose Liverpool not Spurs, despite bein offered more money
Cos we are MILES BIGGER club, we are always near the top,not like you havin there best spell in 50 years and suddenly you think your Barcefu**inlona.Idiot!!!!

Umm i think Torres went to Liverpool because he was a boyhood Liverpool fan and because of Benitez.
I also think the Benitez factor is what did it for Alonso, plus teams weren't exactly clamouring for his signature were they? (I'm not saying he's a bad player, he's not. He's a great player)
Mascherano went because he was at West Ham and hadn't exactly set the world alight had he?? Going to Liverpool was obviously a positive career change.
Fair enough Suarez went to Liverpool, i think, cos they're a big club that up until the season he arrived were competing in the Champions League year after year. But now it's two years without the Champions League and they are in real danger of that becoming three years.
So you tell me, why would Cavani go to Liverpool? Because they have a big trophy cabinet from years ago? Because an international team mate plays there?
Please.
Because perhaps if Liverpool show intent by signing players of Cavani's ilk, that will make other players notice the intentions of the club and want to join.
You don't need to be a regular CL competitor to sign big players. Look at Touré, Silva etc to Man City.

Is it just me or do people still know what the poster means in this /\ sentence, even though the words don't actually make any sense.
Is this not the same style of defence that 'arry is using in court today?
Fred you just gave a reason for why Liverpool would want to sign Cavani. Not why Cavani would want to sign for Liverpool.
Look at the money City were able to throw at the likes of Toure and Silva. That money ensures that if you join City you become filthy rich and also have a Hell of a good chance of winning trophies. CL football was a matter of time and you know it.
No what I meant was if you can persuade Cavani that he is the first signing of a selection of top notch signings, by meeting the owners etc etc, then he'd want to join a project at one of the biggest clubs in world football.

Not true - Fred could equally be meaning that LFC could sell the 'project' to cavani, and make him feel wanted by explaining that he would be the centrepiece of this, while acting as a catalyst to encourage other players to join. Footballers have big ego's and want lots of money - we could pander to both.

I was actually trying to get into a debate with you, shame you had to act like a child

enough said, I think.
More waffle. Loads of teams could spin the "project" pitch to him. The fact is that Liverpool are not in the Champions League. That is where the big players want to be. He will want to go to a team that is playing in the Champions League year after year. Not a team who have missed out the last two years and aren't looking so certain of qualifying for it this year either.
As to the money side, how much do Liverpool actually have? Yes they spent big on Carroll but we all know that was funded by the sale of Torres. Apparently they can't compete with City's wage structure either(I read that's why they never went for Aguero although he cost roughly the same as Carroll) The Yanks haven't exactly been throwing money at Kenny have they? This transfer window is a crucial time for them to go out and buy another striker to take the load off Suarez. He's a great player but he just isn't a great finisher and it's costing Liverpool big time. Yet it looks like Liverpool are going to be doing no business in this window.
Fred, my apologies.
Erm I just asked why would he want to go to Liverpool.
I didnt claim Spurs to be a bigger club.
Some of you are a bit tetchy today.
You might be a 'bigger' club but i'd take our league position / squad over yours any day.
No CL again next year for you
Patriach is a WUM!! Liverpool are the greatest team ever, of course he would want to come, king kenny is there!!
I love this thread.
The OP is about a totally made-up rumour from some two bit ad-vehicle website. It state's clearly that Liverpool will NOT be signing Cavani.
Everyone then procedes to get all wishful and start listing reasons why he might come.
No wonder people are taking the mick. You all deserve it. The rumour's b0llocks. Leave it alone.
