Chicken...................Your first mistake was getting out of bed that morning, your day just went downhill from there!

More importantly, what was the result of the game?

Jokes aside, i only went over to watch my mates play. The pitch was close to where i work, so when i finished i popped over to see them play. I knew the park quite well, there is a nice club house over there, as well as cricket pitches etc.

Anyway, i got there about 10 minutes before kick off, i was just about to walk in the bar to get myself a quick pint but decided to go in the dressing room to join in the banter before the game - and before you know it, i've been persuaded to play & i'm standing there in full kit, borrowed boots, shin pads & i'm starting upfront.



I said i'd play one half, but ended up playing the full 90 mins - mainly because some of the other players were bright enough to sub themselves before they got into my state. So with all the subs used, i had to continue to the bitter end.

We lost 3-2 & i scored one of ours goals (we were actually 1-0 up with it at the time).

Next time, i'm going straight into the club house & will not come out until they have kicked off.

I was literally seconds away, but thought i'd just catch the lads in the changing room to have a quick chat before the game started. So i stepped off the path leading to the bar & walked in the door around the side (the changing room door).
