I do most of my shopping online now tbh. I like that you don't have to rush around and be crammed in a shop full of people lol.

Online shopping! Uhh this could derail the thread from gaming

It won't go down hill that quickly.

Maybe BB like shopping and I can get her in on this

Are you looking forward to any other games in the near future? I would suggest Diablo III but it doesn't seem that there are that many fans of Blizzard games on here

Soccer - Quite a few.

Rainbow 6
Ghost Recon - Future Soldier
Resident Evil 6
(Going to wait for reviews on Resi Evil Raccoon City)
Far Cry 3
Aliens

List goes on

Well I'm excited for Diablo III but I doubt I'll play as I think it'll be too time consuming if it's like its predecessor with regards to getting gear.

Interested in R6 and GR since I enjoy both series but I think the last one that I truly liked playing was Raven Shield.

Another one the I'm keeping an eye on is PlanetSide 2 though I'm not sure when it's slated for release. It's an MMOFPS so battles can get quite grand

Soccer - I'm still hopeing that they bring a Command & Conquer out on the PS3. Brilliant game ever since the PS1.

RTS games are better on PC

Haha.. that was a good series. Not sure if I liked C&C more or Red Alert. I thought it was pretty cool how their cutscenes weren't CG but actual video clips

posted on 21/3/12

Soccer - Likwise. Red Alert was good. I think the PS1 one's were better than the later one's they brought out.

I only remember RA2. Didn't get into it for some reason. Maybe there was a third also but I can't remember for sure. Mammoth tanks

Have you ever tried Supreme Commander? Another good RTS. I think the third one is coming this summer.

Soccer - Heard of it but never tried it. Yeah there was a third. They made a C&C not long ago but it got terrible reviews.

Ah I see. Do you/have you played Starcraft?

Hmm interesting. What was your opinion of the ending? Sorry if that's been discussed already

posted on 21/3/12

Soccer - The ending i got i didn't really like. There's 2/3 different endings within an ending if that makes sense. Only minor differences though unless you get the "perfect ending" in which case Shepard could be alive. Even though it's only assumed that he's dead.

The ending i got felt more like "i did all that for nothing" Which i can see why many people didn't like it.

Umm I think I get it. I know the way ME is set up your in-game choices/decisions affect the outcome so while the overall conclusion is the same their are nuanced variations/differences specific to how you decided to play things. Did you take back Earth?

posted on 21/3/12

Soccer - I destroyed the Reapers but i had a lowish military rating so Earth got destroyed along with the Reapers, so i'm going for a higher score for a different ending.

posted on 21/3/12

Noooooo Earthhhhh

Haha I see.. I guess there is greater variation between the endings than I thought. I remember on ME..2(?) what you did determined which squad members died in the final attack? I could be imagining things

posted on 21/3/12

Soccer - In ME3 your Military rating determines the ending as well. For example the higher it is you could have all 3 options available to save earth. To low and you may only get 1 option. Then there's a sort of sub ending within the main ending. For example if you destroy the reapers and you have a high military rating, nothing on earth will be destroyed.have a medium one and buildings will be destroyed etc.

Ah I see. Interesting way of doing it. Would you want another game in the series or do you think it'd be beating a dead horse etc?

posted on 21/3/12

Soccer - Definitely should be another game. That was one of the main reasons for making this thread lol.

Bioware have left a lot of open doors for an ME4 since they haven't really made any "closure" on ME3. As i said every ending is open to another beginning. The one ending i think they will go on from is when your team crash lands on a planet with what looks like no way off. That'll probably be the starting point.

This was ment to be the end of Shepard's story in the game, but i think that was a bluff from Bioware. If they wanted to they could have confirmed his death in the game and then moved on a bit,as it is there is still an expectation he'll be in the next game in some role.

posted on 21/3/12

Ah I see. Do you thinking shifting the focus to a new hero would detract from the series though since Shepard has been so integral (obviously, being the main character)?

posted on 21/3/12

Soccer - Not really. If you look at Metal Gear Solid 2 for example when you played as Raiden for the majority of the game. Fans complained over that as you had a very limited role as Snake, and after that you could only talk to him. I think taking the main character out of a game as big as ME and replaceing them wouldn't do any favours. After MGS2 Snake was the main character in all the other games. Even the PSP games. Raiden played the secondary role in MGS4. They're bringing a new MGS out with Raiden as the main character, but that's because there was definite closure on Snake. And even then he'll probably have a limited cameo role/appearance.

A game like ME i don't see why Shepard couldn't have gone on to be a council member for Earth etc and THEN there could be a new hero emering while he's still in the game. That way it's a more smooth transition rather than ending it the way it has and moving on. It should be the same for most of the characters imo. Atleast 2-3 of them.
