Personally I don't see what Murray has to answer for?
He put in a fortune of his own money and was speculating on modest revenue gains in the long-term, but never factored in a recession, Setanta going bust and then being shafted by Sky.
Regardless of all that, we only had an £18m debt when he left the helm, which was very much sustainable.
Some people may point to the EBT's, but again, these are perfectly legal, and the fact we used them was only down to relatively bad advice from the accountants (people still use them now, and they're STILL not illegal, so the facts speak for themsleves).
Whyte, in 9 months, threw out £25k a week contracts, invested not a single penny of his own money despite being contractually obliged to under the terms Murray set out in the sale, mortgaged off 4 years of season books and ultimately put us into administration to either make a fast buck or try and bring the big tax case to a head.
We would have been hampered for years to come by the legal wrangle it could have come with, so Rangers were left in a very weak position in terms of potential investment with that hanging over them.
I can just about see the point of going down the route he did, but ultimately he is wholly responsible for taking us over the line.

So no more Hollyoaks fur the boy then
The fact that the "Champions" League has been restructured every other season to favour the biggest couple of leagues is also what really hammered home a gulf in our income.
When he made the majority of the outlay, Rangers were guaranteed automatic qualification to the Champions League every other season and provided we overcame Celtic in the League then we had the comfort of European money to fall back on.
UEFA slowly and surely, systematically turned the competition in favour of England and Spain.
Now our places have gone to 3rd and 4th place teams, and sometimes even 5th place teams from those leagues.
They are making the rich richer and the poor poorer and creating an artificial gulf in class in the income between European Leagues which was only started by Sky investment.
You can try and blame our situation on David Murray or Craig Whyte, but the fact is that one man is not responsible for any of this, and the Scottish game is in far from a good state, because of all of the above.
It seriously won't be long until either we can't compete for very mediocre players or other clubs go to the wall.
Timi...Is summit else coming out about Rangers

I love how if they are reporting against Rangers they are automatically real journalists, im not saying they arent im saying the fact you assume is funny.
it's not because they are reporting Rangers at all,Alex Thomas is an award winning war correspondent and clearly knows how to do his job, unlike the muppets in the scottish media who make up stories on a daily basis and basically talk oot there erchie.
I think it was the tics fault their bottle crashed yet again.

Are Celtic paying this guy a salary,or is he just doing it out of goodwill
i think he's doing it purely to get to the bottom of the mess that is Rangers, just doing his job and asking people the right questions thats all, unlike the rest of the meedja up here.Would you not like to know everything thats going on at your club or would you prefer not knowing?
That depends what he finds out and what he does with his findings. Would you be glad to have virtually a P.I snooping around your club, divulging all the potential skeletons in your closets to the public?
"Would you not like to know everything thats going on at your club or would you prefer not knowing?"
Thats an easy one, does this said news come to the detriment of my club then no, i dont want to know.
Im getting to the point where im fed up hearing bad news mate. Might try this head in the sand stuff, seems like an easy life.
