Celtic 0 v 2 Valencia

You know it’s been a bad performance when the only real good thing about last night was our mini rave before the game

To a man we were shocking last night, Callum McGregor played his worst game in a Celtic jersey. Scott Brown again looked out his depth against decent opposition and Ryan Christie wore Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak.

Speaking of Harry Potter, we’d have been better with Hermoine up front than that diddy Burke. First touch awful, awareness awful and spare me the sheidt about putting a shift in. Half the time he was chasing his own first touch.

Sinclair had a good first 25 minutes then basically hid inside for the majority of the game. Only wee Forrest showed flashes of quality at times.

Izzy was very poor but he’s a 33 year old back up player, he was never going to be good enough for this level and for me there lies the major issue. Valencia had 3 or 4 big players out last night, the guys who came in were all comfortable on the ball, all knew the shape and everyone of them worked tirelessly. We had the same amount out injured and our stop gaps are to be perfectly honest, mediocre at best.

The absence of KT, Rogic and Benkovic has never been more felt than last night for me. We lost a huge driving force on the left, we didn’t have anyone capable of turning a man in centre midfield and in Boyata we had a flucking guy playing in a hot air balloon costume.

Rodgers must carry the majority of the blame as well, we’re absolutely toothless under him in Europe. 1 good game every 4, unacceptable and if we want to make a decent fist of Europe going forward then we need a change.

However, it’s all about the domestic scene right now and a win on sunday and I’ll forget all about last night as quickly as I did when my first burd stuck a strap-on on.
