He’s officially retired from football.
I know it ended badly and he eventually became our enemy but he was top class in the CL winning season. Loved him and Wazza up top.
SAF didn’t make many big mistakes but signing Berbatov and pushing Tevez down the pecking order was one of his biggest.
What we would do now for a peak Carlos Tevez.
Carlos Tevez

Absolute c*nt for carrying around an 'RIP Fergie' sign when City won the league.

Forgot about that and how much it rattled yas. Was on par with balotellis wink and the Tevez billboard 😂

Didn’t he eff off for a year or so and play golf while he was still a City player.

He did, just before he won the league. Busy year.

Has he? While he was undoubtably gifted with sublime technique he wasn’t really needed and never helped improve us. Was pretty important for our 2011 PL title but other than that didn’t do enough. A joy to watch at times though.

Yes, he’s viewed as some sort of legend by some. Even in 10/11 he’s impact was overstated. He had a handful of good games but ended the season on the bench, didn’t even make the CL final squad and was dropped for Welbeck the following season.

Being dropped for Welbeck is the ultimate footballing indignity

As for Tevez, he had a very good first season but was not as important as Rooney or Ronaldo. He regressed in his second season, though the Berbatov signing did push him down the pecking order.
The manner in which he left, how he went about it and who he went to means he'll always be a Kant in my eyes. Let's not forget he went on strike whilst at City too, so it wasn't like he was only a gobshiiite that once.

Genuinely don't recall fans describing Berbatov as a club legend.

I can remember at least one match (can't remember the opposition) when, due to some necessary game-chasing substitutions, Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo and Berbatov were all on the pitch at the same time.
Awesome stuff.
And if it wasn't for Ollie Watkins, berbatov would be the most recent person to have claimed a hat-trick against the second most successful English league team.
Make no mistake about it, both berbatov and tevez were major assets to the club whilst they were there. And were both a joy to watch - albeit for different reasons

Berbatov scored in 12 of 42 appearances that season. He was very hot and cold. He had some very good days but had as many, if not more, bad days for us. He scored 5 goals against Blackburn in 10-11. If he'd scored his big chance against them the previous season and not scored any in the 7-1 win, we'd have won an extra league title.

Think this might have been the 5-2 comeback at home to Spurs. There must have been others but I’m pretty sure they were all on there.
