It's the same as Sarri/Zola saying we were looking at a Fabregas replacement etc and then we get linked to a couple of midfielders, then the comments arrive that his replacement probably won't come until the next window. Says it all. We always seem to looking at the next window and the next window before we look to improve, when it's to late.

If we needed a Fabregas replacement so badly, maybe we should've just kept him til the summer.

You've probably all got time to go and have a three course meal before Sarri comes out to face the media music tonight.

Like how we bought Drinkwater because we sold Chalobah - maybe the answer was to simply keep Chalobah?

We miss out on a £5m transfer fee, but save a £35m outgo.

I think one of the main reasons we are getting worse defensively is because Azpi is spending too much time in the opposition half. Usually he'd be sat next to Rudiger making it a back 3 while Alonso goal hangs in the opposition box.

City's FB;s hardly got forward today.

I think the case of wanting to getting are sadly very far apart. All comes down to how much you believe the media etc but as with Higuain, Marina didn't believe he was the right player to bring in etc. If Sarri wanted x player to replace Fabregas and Marina said no, Sarri already previously said he uses what he has.

Fees don't really come into it for January/Summer windows now imo. The fees players go for now will always be staggering for quality regardless of when it is. It irritates me more because we are becoming much less appealing for young players who (imo anyway) will go on to become world class. I remember us being linked to De Jong from Ajax last window and one before, but we would probably never pay up 60 odd mill for a (at the time) 18/19 year old. Barca have and I can only see him going on to be brilliant.

We just have to come to terms that this team is up to it's neck in little beaches. They just don't care enough. Sure next week they'll probably get a decent win to "show a reaction". But if we go down a goal or two they don't have enough passion for their club or teammates to fight back. They don't take pride in fight. They take pride in an ESPN highlight.

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is one of the worst nights in my career. It is difficult to explain what happened.

"The first five or six minutes went well but that is not enough. It is very frustrating and disappointing. We are conceding a lot of goals and we cannot accept that.

"When you lose 6-0 we have to accept we didn't play well and made errors. We knew it would be tough. When we won at Stamford Bridge it was because we played well and were together. Today was not the case.

"All I can do is apologise to the fans because it is not acceptable."

Robbie Earle talking loads of sense tonight. Just said that sacking Sarri would be a mistake because it doesn't deal with any problems it just passes all the existing problems onto a new manager.

How long can we just keep getting through manager after manager before people the club hierarchy and board start accepting culpability for where we currently are ??

Sadly probably ages longer as even people in here are looking to move onto the next manager already.

The weird thing is it rarely feels like we have the right manager. Always feels as though that divide between the manager/board/players will always cause a problem.

Asked by Sky Sports about whether there will be discussions about his future, the Chelsea manager says:

"I don't know you'll have to ask the club."

Completely agree.

And how many more sackings before the job starts looking really unattractive to potential coaches?

I can't remember who it was on TalkSport (I think) before we got Sarri, saying that for the club to move forward, we need a young, forward thinking manager who is able to adapt and has new ideas. Nagelsmann etc was supposedly in the running for manager for a while. Seems to be a trend that we go for managers who get stuck in a rut and can't/refuse to change.

Meh. Sky were really pushing the "are you about to be sacked?" angle in the post match interview.
Sarri didn't understand what they were trying to ask at first and eventually an interpreter translated it into Italian for him. Don't think there was any knowing in his answer.

Have to hope that the club isn't that short-sighted.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, speaking to Sky Sports: "At the moment I am not able to explain. during the week my feeling was good during training. Maybe the goal we concede after three minutes it was difficult to play. It was difficult not to give them spaces. We were in trouble. I am not able to understand.

"We made a lot of mistakes against the wrong opponents. They played fantastic football and we made a lot of mistakes. We wanted to press them at the beginning of the action but the plan was completely ruined because we concede after three minutes.

"I think the big difference between the two teams was the intensity of pressing. They pressed really well and we were not able to do it. We were not able to react in the right way. We were not able to stay in the match.

"At the moment we have a big problem away. The beginning of the season we were better away than at home. But everything has changed in the last month. We need to understand.

"It is right. I am in charge of the team so it is right [that he faces pressure]. You will have to ask the club [if there will be discussions about his future]."

Guardiola on Sarri: "They beat us at Stamford Bridge. Against Napoli last season it was tight at times... people don't understand how difficult it is [to play this way]... it only depends on the belief of the owners." Adds he picked City because they understood

What does Roman class as working though....he doesn't exactly clock on, he can work from his boat

If the club are going to sack Sarri now, it was ridiculous to appoint him in the first place, especially without a pre-season.

It’s time to commit to a manager/philosophy otherwise we’ll find ourselves back at square 1 again in the summer but then probably without Hazard. Then mid table mediocrity beckons for a prolonged period.

I suspect that Guardiola wouldn't have lasted a season with us. He's a clever guy, I bet we were never on his radar even when Roman was trying hard to get him.
