I was slightly amazed he got away with that legally, strong protections for sports or whatever

I believe there are occasions in sunday league games where people have been prosecuted for GBH when it it was a targeted horror tackle

Yeah, I guess the fact the myth slightly exaggerates the aftermath - Haaland actually retired with a different injury several years later - probably helps him.
