Black History Month is a con, history is not defined by skin colour, nor is anything meaningful. If the only interesting thing to say about Paul Cannoville is that he is the first black player then he probably isnt that interesting.

His book Black and Blue is a good read and defines racism in football and in thecountry at that time. His colour of skin has nothing to do with it,how people decided to react to his skin colour is what its about.

No, I think racism is always bad, I disagree with the so called anti racism of today that attempts to define our actions and experiences by our skin colour. I dont think society our experiences individually are structured that way at all.

Your "victims are boring" comment conjures up the image of someone who has no compassion or empathy for others.

I can’t actually have empathy for Cannoville, as I havent been racially abused - at least, I doubt it.

I can, however, say that people being defined by abuse directed at them is not that interesting to me. I think people who are victimised but then do meaningful things with their lives are fascinating. People defined simply for being victims, less so.

Even if I accepted the claim America’s police forces are institutionally racist and George Floyd was killed by a racist - things I personally dispute - I resent the idea our society is identical to America’s.
I also have no idea how defining people more and more by their race and showing lecturing documentaries in the UK has much to do with anything other than power.
They want people to conform to their world view.
