Pep hypes up every manager. He said the same about Potter.

What did he say about Potter ? And did he ever work with him closely ?

thats honestly Potters highest achievement as a manager

Lampard will go down as a better coach when the dust settles on both of their careers imo

Not quite. He praises managers he beats easily who play open football and let his teams pass through them. He rarely praises managers who beat him, especially if they do it in a way he deems anti-football.

As Mourinho would say, Lampard needs a club he can call his "house" as a manager. Potter doesn't have a house, he has a country

I think Potter's career is gunna age well, he's gunna be view as this generation's Hodgson. For Lampard to get wider respect outside the Chelsea bubble, I feel as if he's gunna need to do something memorable with a PL club or do well if he ever gets the England job.

🚨 Maresca: “We had a chat with Marc Guiu two weeks ago and I told him I didn’t like the way he trained and needed to change, he changed”

Enzo Maresca on telling a youngster he is not featuring: "It's with Estevao, but it's almost with all of them - it doesn't matter about the age. If you say to Tosin, the oldest one, that he's not going to play, he's not happy. It's not about the age but they need to understand they can't play every game."

Couldn't have anything to do with Guiu looking good and on the verge of getting a PL start lol

Sounds like Guiu was sulking after being recalled from his loan spell at Sunderland.

Kind of feel bad for Guiu as he's been unlucky so far. Had a decent Europa League run last season but when the opportunity to prove himself presented itself in the PL after Jackson got injured for months he also got injured at exactly the same time.

And now that he's scored in the CL it looked like he might get a start in at least one of the following PL games. But now we're hearing that Delap is suddenly available earlier than expected. Which means that Guiu probably gets relegated to obscurity in all likelihood if both Delap and Pedro are available.

Personally I'm very interested to see what Guiu can do in the PL given a run of games as he's seemingly very well suited to it but looks like we're going to make do with just some PL sub appearances at best this season.

If he impresses tomorrow v Sunderland then there's no reason why he won't get more opportunities to play.

We're not going to rush Delap straight back into team you'd think especially after a hamstring problem.

I agree with this. There is competition for places at every club - Guiu is just fortunate he’s a striker at Chelsea where there is less competition than in any other position. There’s no reason he can’t hang on to that starting position if he plays well, even after Delap returns from injury. Delap isn’t that good for a start, and Guiu has a lot of ability. He just needs some confidence, and guidance along the way.

Agree that we're not going to rush Delap back but he's available very soon according to reports so it's likely only a matter of time before he's ready for PL games. Whether that gives Guiu the required time to make a mark in the PL remains to be seen.

And if he doesn't then how much opportunity is he really likely to get in the PL if Delap and João Pedro stay fit and are playing reasonaby well ? Hope he does still get chances but it just seems that whenever a window of opportunity presents itself for Guiu in the PL it seems to close up. I for one want to see what he can do after we went to the lengths of emergency recalling him.

🗣 Didier Drogba: "I said in the past that I don't recognize my team, and it was right. It was exactly the feeling I had. And today, the team has improved.

So you have to say when things are good, not only criticize when it's bad. Things are good this year, and I'm really happy with what the manager is doing, and those young kids are giving everything for the club, and it makes me proud."

Didier Drogba on Chelsea winning the Club World Cup:

🗣 "I was proud in many ways, in many ways, in many ways. First of all, as a Chelsea fan, every time Chelsea have been in a final something magical happens, something special happens, because I think it's in our DNA.

We struggle, but when you reach the final, it becomes a different team. It's like Frank Lampard, John Terry, Petr Cech, Makelele, Diego Costa, all these guys are behind the kids, and then we push them, and then they play, and they win, and they beat PSG, who's the Champions League title owner.

I was proud to see the team doing well, and and and perform during the summer."
