Stretford_Ender, if Anderson gets ridiculous praise, what of Cleverly?

I was one of the people who advised caution when he had a few good games early season and refused to be swept in the mass hysteria that people were even comparing him to Iniesta.

Cleverly has some talent. But he is not remotely as talented as some of our fans think. A full season of Cleverly marshalling our midfield will be a wake-up call to many.

You never fail to bite do you?

Modric would dream of playing for the European Champions, something your club will never be

we have bought from spurs before - dont see why they wouldnt sell to use if they get a good amount of money

True, but i Madrid are not going to pay £35-40 million, how are United, whom are not exactly flushed with cash these days, having to service a debt of over £400 million.

You can`t have him though. Modric is taking the piiiiiis out of your club and Abramovich. He has you dangling on a piece of string.

After next season you will be ex euro champions. Nothing lasts forever.

There was no mention of Real Madrid last year & Harry has just slipped them in retrospectively to give his comment legs.

Not entirely true Greaves. There were reports that Madrid made tentative enquiries about Modric last year. They decided to take a back set and watch Chelsea negotiate a deal, since Chelsea were always going to outbid them.

I'm not entirely convinced on either just yet to be honest with you but that's not to say that won't change.

However.......one of those players came through the ranks and cost nothing, the other cost us a lot of pounds, shillings and pence.

I think after what we have been used to seeing for so long now (paul Scholes) that whoever we get may not live up to his level. Not many can.

Too soon to judge Cleverley as he's played about 10 games for us. Nothing Anderson has done in 5 years at United makes me think our midfield problems are sorted.

To be honest I didn't notice Anderson in the 2nd half yesterday.

Decent player but just doesnt have the ability.

It's your club Modric is laughing at.

You paid how much for Anderson? £20m+?

Levy won't sell to United unless the fee is overly inflated. I am sure United realise this now. It's going to take £40m+ for United to be invited to the table - and don't even think about putting him in a taxi and taking him to your ground!

FC Porto's official accounts say we paid them 30m Euros. Which in 2007 was £24m

Ando cost in excess of 20 M pounds.

Fergie's comments about Moura look even more silly now!

If he went up for sale tomorrow, we'd struggle to get 10m for him.

£40m? Stick with what we have thanks.

Dont say that too loud though. Certain of our fans hate to admit he cost that much.

Sturridge

99% percent of the Spurs fans on JA606 and are top guys IMO so if we finish above them I won't WUM them and the same applies for Arsenal for the same reason but I am going to make sure I find everyone of wearethefamousthfc's WUM articles on our board and come back to them.

I have already agreed that I won't return to JA606 if Spurs finish above us, Batmanu has done the same with Arsenal

I remember the old 606, everybody was buzzing when we signed Ando, and every oppositin fan was jealous....youtube eh?

I think he could be a good player still though, I like his drive on the ball.

Remember Nani back then, too?

Now compare the improvements in the two players since 2007.

My problem with Modric is that he has clearly demonstrated he isn't up for the big games and does his disappearing act when these games come round.

That isn't an improvement on what we've got but a backward step. How you guys do not see this baffles me.

If we are looking to move forward with better players, we need players that make ours look rubbish when we play them.

Modric doesn't do that, has never done it and will never do it

Modric is going to Madrid or nowhere at all. Nobody in the PL will pay what Spurs want.
