No we’re not, but what a job Conte is doing getting this shiete squad to 4th last season. Explain to me how he managed to pull that off but is a shiete manager?

Answer my question first Fridge, third time of asking - how did he take this shiete squad from 9th to 4th last season if he is shiete?

Well I’ll answer it with another question back. Do you really think the standard of Nuno’s squad was 9th? Was the one Redknapp inherited 20th? No. We were still one of the top six teams in the league. We went out of Europe and, even though Arsenal threw it away, we were able to rest midweek and play HIS way. That’s not sustainable. All top six sides play most midweek. We either develop a deeper squad with money we don’t have or bring in a manager that likes to keep the ball and rotate successfully. Poch managed it. Conte doesn’t seem able to.

He took a squad that Poch crashed with, Jose incompletely failed with and Nuno just couldn’t handle and added two then took them to 4th.

We were brilliant the second half of last season, smashing Newcastle, Everton, Norwich, Leeds and Arsenal with some fantastic football. Suddenly Dier could defend, Sess could stay fit and Even Davies was looking good.

The. After performing the miracle of getting us 4th, Levy repaid him by buying substandard players again this summer

Jesus! Take a look at my articles and comments down the years. I’ve said the owners are culpable when it comes to not backing Poch but to my mind, we’re playing so badly under Conte that he’s still not getting enough out of this team. I recognised that Poch was getting as much out of the side as he could and criticised the owners for not helping him but it’s not the same with Conte. He’s not doing enough for me.

We have 13/14 players who can play in our team without affecting the overall quality and that’s it
