Shiould we be looking at Fermin López of Barca?

Fab was linking him to Utd earlier today. Barca product so he is a player. He is on the fringes. 22 yrs old.

Wonder his thoughts on Marc Casadó being up for sale

posted 2 weeks, 2 days ago

Just watched the clip of Son leaving the pitch for the last time, gutted.

I’ve never been emotional or really sad about a player leaving, but Son leaving hits. Absolutely gutted our journey with him has come to end, he is Mr Tottenham, to me our greatest ever player and he should definitely have a statue built for him outside the ground.

I hope he gets a chance to return to the Tottenham stadium for a proper goodbye from the fans.

Announce Maddison replacement

posted 2 weeks, 2 days ago

Same knee for Maddison.
Could be end of career at top level I guess.

posted 2 weeks, 2 days ago

If we could take Palhinha’s cartilage and give it to Madders then I’d be happy with the signing

Whilst I like Son. He is nowhere near Spurs greatest ever player. And I could think of 20 players at least who would deserve a statue before Sonny.

Fermin and Casado are both really good but I wouldn't be shocked to see either leave Barca

Fermin is a bit of an oddball for a La Masia attacking mid. He's quite quick, very very direct, good finisher, excellent box movement, gets good G/A numbers (especially considering relatively limited minutes), but he's relatively wasteful in possession cos he's always trying the high risk option. More in the Bruno/Dele/Lampard mould. He's played off the left wing a few times but definitely better behind a striker.

Casado is a really good DM, very high energy, aggressive in the tackle, and a surprisingly good long passer. Start of last season De Jong was injured and Flick played Bernal (younger Busquets regen) as the DM, but then Bernal did his cruciate and Casado came in instead - at the time no-one expected much of him because he was decent but unspectacular for the B team, but then he was absolutely superb and kept De Jong out of the team for a while. But now De Jong is back in form, Bernal is fit again, Gavi is getting back up to speed... It's unlikely Casado will play much.

I'd be sad to see either leave Barca but both would massively improve Spurs. I could see Casado leaving for sure, but I reckon Fermin is less likely - if he left then I think that gambles too much on Rashford not being absolute sheite as the backup LW, and Olmo is constantly injured so there will be minutes for Fermin at #10 too

That said, Fermin would be really good as one of Amorim's floaty 10s

Not sure of the stats, but feels like Maddison missed a considerable amount of game time last season as well as disappearing in the majority of games he did play
Just stating

Good write up Mandy

posted 2 weeks, 2 days ago

Yeah cheers Mandy. Don't mind him being brave with his passing. Still young enough to learn. Don't think he minds getting stuck in either.

At least there plenty of no.10's out there. McAtee, Elliott, El Khannouss, Milott and Lopez. Most of them within reach.

Incidentally Marc Bernal is absolutely ridiculous, literally looks like a left footed Busquets. Assuming he's fully recovered from the ACL tear I'd have him down as the next Barca academy prospect to go global. Same year group as Cubarsi and Yamal. Insane talent factory

Keep an eye out for Jofre Torrents too, classy left back. Though he's got his work cut out getting games ahead of Alex Balde

Dro Fernandez has done well in pre-season, he's a classic La Masia tekky little playmaker, only 17. Then there's the other Fernandez cousins (Guille and Toni, both 17) and Dani Rodriguez (19). Would back at least one of them to break through this season, Flick loves using the academy. Easy when you're winning games 5-0 most weeks I guess

Also when ur academy is better than everyone else’s

I wasn’t a fan of his at Fulham honestly, I’d rather do PEH

posted 2 weeks, 1 day ago

I don’t want to judge him based on pre-conceived notions though. Usually the player who winds me up the most I don’t anticipate prior to the season (unless it’s Sissoko)
