In that Messi is younger, yes.

i agree. ronaldo is the master, messi tries hardest to replicate him, but just can't do it.

I've seen a few Barca v Real games in my time and I'm constantly surprised the way Ronaldo keeps matching the Messi performance.

I class them as twins!

Messi is better ! However, In this particular derby Ron has played out of his skin many times and doesn't seem to get the credit for it.

i garuntee if ronaldo wasnt branded as a diver, people would think he is better. the media control you all.

Rev no one says Ronaldo is crap. Majority put him as top2 in world. Messi is just a level above the rest, even Ronaldo.

Love roni, amazing player. But Messi edges it for me, involved in everything

Messi is in a different class to Ronaldo, sure the latter scores plenty of goals, but his general play is pretty poor, and those stupid free kicks he keeps taking, most of them hit the wall. And why does he keep preening himself even when he is on the deck.

Messi is a far more intelligent player.

Every time Messi gets the ball he's got 5 players on him instantly! Ronaldo plays a one-on-one game with Barca's only defender

I could seriously see Messi going strong even at the age of 40. The guy sees things that few players could. His execution of pretty much everything is top-notch.

Ronaldo is a machine. When he loses his pace and shooting power he could easily be marked out of games imo.

This Ronaldo's a really good player but when he loses his pace and physicality he'll take a massive drop in quality.

Anyone can see that Ronaldo is a fantastic player, he just steamrolls the opposition on his own sometimes. But I just don't think he has that magic that Messi has.

And I have to say Ronaldo can only take on 1 or 2 players max. when dribbling. He is nowhere near as mobile/nimble as messi, who could take on 5 or 6 players at once and beat them at will.

Yeah these same Arsenal Fans who were so sure Ronaldo would never make it at real let alone fulfill his dream of becoming a football legend, they can all once again forsee him losing everything with his pace and angel Messi continuing till he's 40yrs.

Why so much jealousy. Who cares what you think anyway as he goes on breaking records and setting his.

Finishing and technique is about even. Ronaldo maybe has better movement off the ball, but the rest of Messi's game is lightyears ahead.

No need to get menstrual, I think Ronaldo is phenomenal, but Messi is better.

If Grandad Scholes can save your backsides at 37, I'm sure Messi could do a job at 40.

Why so much jealousy?

I'm sure the question should really be, on a thread where people are calmly giving their opinions as to who is better, why so much paranoia? Shows you're insecure about someone who doesn't even play for United anymore. Bit sad, the way you lashed out really.

=====================================
Messi is possibly the greatest player of all time, and certainly the best player I've ever seen at any length. It's not really any shame on Ronaldo if the general consensus is that he's the 2nd best player in the world.

And on who can play for longer, some of these points are valid. Messi has phenomenal vision and passing which means he could play a less dynamic role if his physical attributes diminished, whereas Ronaldo would probably struggle more than him as he gets older.
