On 13 May 2013, James Beattie was appointed as Accrington Stanley's new manager replacing Leam Richardson, but after 16 months in the post, Beattie left by mutual consent. He managed for 58 matches with a win ratio of 27.6%.
Beattie earned his first senior England cap in a friendly against Australia, on 12 February 2003, during his most successful season with Southampton. Australia won 3–1, and the result was described (by the Australian media) as "one of the biggest upsets in soccer history". Beattie played the whole of the first half of the match, and was replaced at half-time by Francis Jeffers, who scored England's consolation goal.
Beattie's brief international career seemed to have come to a close when he was not selected for UEFA Euro 2004, the England team coach Sven-Göran Eriksson preferring Emile Heskey as the "traditional" centre-forward despite his having scored five fewer goals than Beattie in the previous season.

Every now and then I like a creamy and mild Danish cheese, especially when it's inspired by Bonnie Tyler's 1983 hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart".
Kian Spence and Jordan Slew were on target as Halifax climbed off the foot of the National League with a hard-fought win at Scunthorpe.
Both teams had chances before Spence broke the deadlock with a free-kick seven minutes before half-time.
The hosts sent on Rob Apter, signed on loan from Blackpool, for the second half and the 19-year-old fired just wide soon after his introduction.
Apter tried his luck again before Spence was denied a second by an incredible save from home goalkeeper Marcus Dewhurst.
But the win was secured with two minutes left when Slew rounded the keeper and slotted home after a mix-up at the back from Keith Hill's side, who have now lost five in a row since beating Yeovil on the opening day of the season.

Aljaž Bedene (born 18 July 1989) is a Slovenian professional tennis player. He was a naturalised Briton and played with this nationality from 2015 to 2017, returning to represent Slovenia in 2018.
Bedene has won six Futures and 16 Challenger singles titles. In doubles he has won one Challenger title and two Futures titles. His highest ranking is No. 43 in singles (achieved on 19 February 2018) and No. 127 in doubles (achieved on 7 October 2013).
Bedene represented Slovenia when he turned pro in 2008. On 31 March 2015, he was granted UK citizenship and represented Great Britain, but the International Tennis Federation has rejected his application to represent Great Britain in the Davis Cup as he had previously played three dead rubbers for Slovenia. After his appeals failed, Bedene switched his representation back to his birth country of Slovenia for the 2018 season.
He announced that he will retire at the end of the season after Slovenia's Davis Cup tie to become a soccer agent.

Nasa has called off the launch of its big new Moon rocket - the Space Launch System (SLS).
Controllers struggled to get an engine on the 100m-tall vehicle cooled down to its correct operating temperature.
They had previously worried about what appeared to be a crack high up on the rocket but eventually determined it was merely frost build-up.
The SLS is the biggest rocket ever developed by Nasa. It will be used to send astronauts back to the Moon.
The maiden flight, part of Nasa's Artemis programme, is just a demonstration with no-one on board. But ever more complex missions are planned for the future that will see people live on the lunar surface for weeks at a time.
