Which teams do football writers support?

I always find when a reporter supports a club, he goes over the top in trying to show that he's not biased and thus I can't read his thoughts on my club. McNulty for example.

Who does McNulty support?

Liverpool, as far as I'm aware.

I thought McNulty was an Everton fan?

I can't read his thoughts on any club. Because he's not very good.

Mark Chapman, that's it, I like him.

Seven Grater, yeh it was Neil.

Mcnulty gets so much abuse for whatever article he puts up on the BBC.

I'm pleased to hear it. He's one of the fairer, funnier guys in the sports media. I just hope the BBC hold on to him and he doesn't go to Sky, or ITV, or BT.

Well if he's an Everton fan then that explains his over the top swipes at us,just as well. I doubt it though, I get the feeling he's a Liverpool fan.

A lot of Arsenal loving journos there..that explains a lot !

McNulty isn't awfully good at all. I remember all through the 08/09 season he said that Liverpool would never win the title under Benitez. That summer, we sold our best midfielder and, when asked for his tip for The title, he said Liverpool.

Bizarre.

They're fecking idiots on there. Probably why they closed 606. Some articles are actually well written and interesting but you get the tribal idiots arguing it out on every article. They all think Vickery is great, why? Simple, he doesn't talk about their club, so they can't scream bias etc. He talks about South American football.

Couldn't agree more. I always enjoy when he's presenting football programmes, especially Final Score. I prefer him to Gabby Logan.

I know. I dont get the abuse for McNulty either. If you dont like him, dont read his articles

I dont get the praise for Tim Vickery either though. He could make an article with just an image of a pile of poo in it and everyone would be gushing with praise for him.

Once people have an opinion, they won't change it. Stubborness kills debate. I have always prided myself that I am willing to take in the opinions of others, providing that they show a similar attitude to mine. But not everyone is like that, as we all know.

Yeah Chapman does radio and TV. Didn't know he was a United fan, still a very good presenter.

He is an Everton fan. It goes to show, though, how difficult it is. First, you thought he was biased due to him being a Liverpool fan and so being overcritical, now you think he is biased because he is actually an Everton supporter, so either way it is a no win situation.

Journalists tend to have players or managers they rate at any club and tend to stick to that opinion, their allegiances to clubs as a whole go out of the window, at least if they are any good. For me, people are looking for something that simply isn't there, their preferences are not down to individual clubs, it is how that club goes about individual parts of it.

Is that right? He's always so fair to all teams, and fans.

I remember last season, the day after the Carling Cup final, he was speaking to Ian McGarry on the Monday Night Club. McGarry was saying how the victory meant nothing to the club, the players or the fans. So then Chappers read out a text from a Liverpool fan which was basically about how much his 11-year old son had enjoyed the day at Wembley, and how his eyes had lit up as they walked down Wembley way. It was really nice, and it sure as hell shut McGarry up.

The Lipton one confirms a few things about his Vitrioloic write up on city winning the cup. He spouted all the usual stuu about mario and gave him 4* when everyone else made him man of the match and Gave Etherington 5* who touched the ball 4 times.
