I think with Haysbert, people couldn't separate him from the role of David Palmer which he did brilliantly. His role in The Unit was so different to that.

Any Red Dwarf fans?

Um, YEAH!!!!! LOVE the early stuff, and ya know what, the last series that aired lst year was really good.

The season before...not so much...

Season 9 was pretty awful but I love Red Dwarf. I watched through the series many times.

I enjoyed The Unit too, disappointed it was cancelled.

My most watched US TV show ever is Buffy. Even now I still do a full run through from time to time.

Does anyone watch Friday Night Lights? I'm totally addicted to it, and I hate American football!

Ivor

To me it more equated to having Colin Firth play James Bond.

.........................

It is, apart from some of the dialog, and if you could believe that someone can hide their identity with some green eyeshadow.

Short answer: There are no good American remakes of British shows.
But the Americans do what us Brits cannot seem to do; Great drama.

E.g. Walking Dead, West Wing, The Wire, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Homeland, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men

Sherlock - or 'Elementary' as it is called in the states.

Not as showy brilliant as ours but equally as good. i was sceptical when they had a female playing Watson (Lucy Liu) but i gave it a chance and it is quite good.

American remakes of our telly are not particularly good, then again, vice versa.

American drama puts British drama to shame.

We only seem to excel at 'period dramas' and with 'Game of Thrones', they even rival us in that.

Walking Dead isn't even funny

Shaun of the Dead was much funnier and I don't think they should have remade it as a series with southern accents.

Different shows, bud.

Whilst i think that Walking Dead is overrated, it is not meant to be a funny zombie series, it is an apocalyptic drama.
