they nearly have as many tunes as you have on your Ipod Macca
I think that is only if you were buying cheap pirated copies Galv. Then I can see why it would eventually end up funding terrorism, at 25p a dvd or something. But really, it doesn't.
yeah and you could never skip it
Have you not seen the anti-piracy ads?
---------------------
Nope. In my country the anti-piracy movement hasn't gained that much of a momentum than in the west. Not aware of it. But I believe I have read it on major magazines like Times, Forbes etc. Didn't completely agree with them though.

You're implying that Macca knows how to work an iPod
Most of the artists I listen to are dead or on their way, so I have no problem in 'depriving' these artists and record labels of a few quid.
If they didn't try to rip people off so badly them I'm sure people wouldn't mind paying for their products.
It makes more of a difference for the common man to lose lots of money on music and films than it does the multi-millionaire artists and record labels.

How do you change the dns ?
i don't ilegally download....don't agree with it...but thats just me....
Downloading is fine, personally I still buy the same amount of music and go to the cinema just as often. I only buy vinyl and 90% of that is second hand which means none of that money goes towards the music industry anyway.
Look at Switzerland, downloading copywrite material is completely legal as long as it is used for personal use as the money spend on entertainment products have stayed relatively the same.
The only thing being deprived by piracy is the artificial monopoly on entertainment that the major companies have enjoyed for decades.
The Internet is a great equaliser and has brought untold benefits to content creators whether they are independent or otherwise.
I have 200 on mine, always have it on shuffle and I can never find a song I want to listen to. Does make the commute in better though. Think we have/had something like 25,000 songs on the server at home.
I'll purchase music by lesser known artists.
If I happen to like a song by a mainstream milliionaire artist, I have no qualms about depriving them of a couple of quid.

out of those 25K songs how many did you pay for?
There is a whole lot of FUD coming out of the major entertainment companies about piracy and almost all of it is lies.

My dad's music collection, so I have absolutely no idea.
The thing that annoys me is when I buy something, but I'm then restricted with what I can do with it.
Where as if I just torrent it i can watch it on anything I want.
I buy most things, but some things I just can't be bothered with all the hoops you have to jump through.
I should clarify that I do not download. I have almost 13000 songs in my collection, all of them paid for through legitimate services.

There also needs to be a universal video format so that I can play my movies on other platforms. Does my head in when you can't watch a film on iTunes because of the format, or you only get the audio and the visual wont play. My tv wont recognise the videos from my itunes library either so I can't play them through there.
Drives me bloody nuts.
My iPod is used only for podcasts now. iPods will be a thing of the past in 5 or so years as streaming on phones becomes more popular.

Cloud players are overrated. I do not want to rely on an Internet connection or someone else's servers to listen to my purchased music.
I will stick with my iPod classic, thank you very much
